No, I said this situation, coupled with alllll of the crap that his been going on at his apartment in the past, and his USC and UNLV baggage, could warrant removal.

If this was one isolated incident, then I could see very little punishment being warranted.

Also, dreamyfred.... did you just change your picture and "clean up" your original post to me? haha

So you wanted to kick Joke off the team after his SECOND arrest for the same thing but instead your coach went with zero punishment. You must be disgusted by Fran.

Just because you disagree with the law doesn't mean you can break it. Weed is still illegal, so at the end of the day cops still found an illegal substance in his apartment. Pretty cut and dry.

But was it his? Means nothing. If an under age player is busted for loud noise and the cops said other people were there and some beer cans were found would you all be saying that the uNader age player should be suspended because some beer cans were found without knowing who's it is?

Thanks for that. Do I care that he smokes weed, plays video games, and listens to loud music? No, I dont care. The point, if you can actually think logically, is that he is a high (haha) profile player, who is on a top 15 ranked team, and is on a very short leash. Look, I think weed should be legalized, and I smoke from time to time to, but the bottom line is he committed a crime. Granted its not serious, and imo, a bit ridiculous, but its still a crime. he has to be smarter about the situations he puts himself in.
So since you admitted that you smoke from time to time, shouldn't you also have to be smarter about the situations you put yourself in? Him smoking weed (whether he did or didn't) is no different than you doing it.

If charges were dropped, I am guessing he doesn't get suspended but he also wont start on Friday yet still plays.

This isn't Iowa City, bud. Only at the University of Iowa would a player be booted for a non isolated incident of playing loud music.

Obviously their Bible study got out of hand....right?

Seriously though, I wonder how some folks would react if this was their son/daughter's neighbor?

To me, the fact he had a meeting with the PD, CFH, and the reporting student to seek resolution and continued to be a jerk, not cool.

Agreed that isn't cool.

Also, that not being cool does not warrant a suspension.

I'm thinking the same thing - although I'm saying just start him as you normally would. Get the heckling (or at least the worst/bulk of it) over during the introductions. Otherwise he's coming off the bench directly into the game.

I still think the best thing for Fred is to say nothing. Then, if he so chooses - don't start Bryce and make it out like a first half suspension thing. If we need him earlier - play him. If we don't need him at all (not likely) don't play him.

Don't get into that FSU Winston debacle. "First half, full game, suited up, street clothes". Granted - this is only lowly Iowa (state of) and not a national scene - but the public is really good these last few months at second guessing any discipline handed down

I know plenty of college students who don't smoke weed, aren't unnecessarily loud at 3 a.m., and haven't gotten the cops called to their place five times in four months. So those who act like every college kid does this have no idea what they are talking about.
