Did I miss an announcement on Devin Lemke leaving the football team? @CycloneFB released updated weights for the spring roster and he was not on the list, and he is not on the cyclones.com roster.

Definitely a bad pattern, but in Lemke's case I'm not concerned. If you have been here 3 years and you can't get on the field with our DL, its probably best to move to a level where you can contribute. Suck to lose Rogers and Jensen though.
I know a friend of their family. He says that Devin is a great kid and he is a really good athlete. He was saying last year that he had a really bad shoulder. I am wondering if it got to be too much for him to come back. I think he had a lot of potential. Next time I see him I will ask, but I am pretty sure there are people on this board that will know.
The kid missed most of a year due to shoulder problems, and surgery. Is there any particular reeason to get so snarky about him?

That is too bad. Too many people don't understand how injuries impact a football career. I remember when Chris Boskey was a great DT for the Cyclones in the late 70's. After a great freshman year, he was injured in his sophomore season. A devastating knee injury which robbed him of his great quickness. He eventually rehabbed himself enough to change over and start at OL. But his awesome potential as a football great at ISU was taken away from him by injury. I was amazed he even was able to play again.
Congrats to Devin for his efforts. Hope he heals enough to not have life long effects.
Anytime a player isn't able to finish their career as anticipated and injury free, it's always a loss. It's important to not have a myopic view of a player's impact on the team. Perhaps Devin never really showed up in the box score, but what if he was a crucial part of team camaraderie? What if he was the man who pushed others in the weight room? What if he was an important part of the scout team which helped our team prepare for some of the most amazing upsets in recent memory?
Regarding Boskey, he was one of ISU's most decorated recruits ever--a Parade All-American who picked little ole ISU over pretty much everybody: Notre Dame, USC, Ohio State, Michigan, Alabama, etc.
Well we thank him for his hard work and determination, and for representing the Cyclones well in his three years here. Best of luck to him in his future endeavors.

I think it is more of an issue like someone like Shaban Dika, where injuries made it impossible to continue his athletic career at this level. I am not assuming we "pulled" anything.
Not at all. The kid was injured his entire career.
This was the guy that had to skip his senior year of bball to have surgery on his shoulder. Then I think he got injured again. It just didn't work out with the injuries.
Even with Lemke off the team, we are 4 schollies or so over the limit of 85.
EDIT: Nevermind about the shoulder I was thinking of Jamison Lalk who was recruited as a TE as well as Lemke and then moved to OL
