Probably TJ, I think he could keep Hunter committed and build around from there.
There has to be other options, right? I don’t think devries will come here. And I’m already so sick of TJ.

TJ...connections....ship probably has sailed (my first choice though). DeVries a solid candidate!
Given the 2, give me Devries. TJ wouldn't garner serious consideration without his ISU connections given the results he has. Whereas you plug Devries in at any mid major and 3 likely 20 win seasons at a traditionally bad basketball school would at least warrant a look.

Did DeVries grow up a huge Iowa fan? From App PB, Went to UNI. Brother was a Hawk. Just sayin. I know a lot of people on here hate UNI alumni.

TJ and the Drake coach can’t be our only options.

Does it really matter? I mean McCarney coached at ISU and Gable became an all time great coach at Iowa.

TJ will be able to get high level talent in Ames. He's definitely a better coach than what we currently have. With Devries, we know he's a good coach, but can he get the right level of talent to come to Ames? Can he manage said talent? I think TJ fits what we need more so than Devries and has more years head coaching experience.
Agree. I hope JP has already started the discussion with Matta regarding any interest.
Truthfully, I would love to see Devries stay at Drake and keep them relevant. Hopefully it isn't too much to ask to be able to get someone equally or more competent than Drake.
I like the idea of bringing my kids to some Drake games since the Knapp Center is so small. They get pretty bored in Hilton in the nosebleeds.

Duke assistants are a no go.
I'd take either. I'm a tad worried about the results that TJ has seen as a head coach. Yes he can recruit, but I really thought he'd be racking up wins already and he isn't. And if he wasn't ISU's assistant before would he be on our radar? Is he on ANYONE'S radar from a P5 school? I have to think no. That's also just something to keep in mind.
