The streets are looking more like rivers right now but the basement is still dry. At least for now.
You're not kidding. Forget "gutters". There is standing water across the width of the street.
The back 10-15 feet of my lawn is submerged.
The other night when it was like this, getting from wdm to ankeny through des moines (didnt take 235 as the rain was blinding at 30mph) was a fun little challenge. Merle hay and NE14th both with portions completely underwater.

June in Central Iowa has definitely changed in the last 3 decades. It’s like a Brazilian rain forest now.
I saw 80 degree dew point today for Des Moines, and every bit of that is coming down right now in central Iowa with flooding rains. NO GOOD and Very Dangerous.
