I like parts of Dishon's game for sure. He is a big strong player and can bully undersized 5's. He has some post moves, can rim protect and rebound a little, can hit FTs. I'd welcome him back if he doesn't get the bag he's looking for. Honestly, what drove me crazy is the hands. He fumbled sooo many balls out of bounds. If he could clean that up, he'd be HM all conference at minimum...wherever he ended up. Also, he's not really very good at guarding the high ball screen or on switches. Maybe he needs to go to more of a zone team where he's not exposed as often. But, when you look at our losses, many were when the opposing big hit a bunch of 3's. WV, OSU, OM. Or when teams put him in switches to get open 3's off of ball screens like BYU did.
Personally, I feel like Jefferson can guard most 5's at this level. Obviously, you need some more size for playing against teams with more bulk. But if I were to build the roster (and I'm no expert), I would go Jefferson at the 5, Momcilivic at the 4, Heise at the 3. You really don't lose much rebounding-wise from what we had this year and you're able to switch MUCH easier. Plus, you have 5 guys who can hit the outside shot. Then, you backfill with a Chatfield type at the 5 and find another 4 to back up Momcilivic. And obviously you'd need a high level SG to make it all work.
