Just watching the K State vs Okie State game from last season and still cant believe how disciplined K State is. I cant wait for Snyder to be gone, he is a hell of a coach. I think with the game at home we take them by 10.

I think this is our "Paul Rhoads upset" for the year. I would rather it be OU as it's been an embarrassingly long time since we've beaten them.

Agree, I hope OU is our big moment this year but I am sick of losing to Purple Kansas.

I think this could be the single biggest game of CPR's coaching career so far, and the biggest game Iowa State has played since maybe the 2002 oklahoma game.

The set up:
4-1 Iowa State vs 5-0 #10 Kansas State in Jack Trice Stadium
4 straight wins for K-State
Wildcats haven't won in JTS since 2003

If Iowa State wins, we will be ranked heading into the game @Ok State

If last years game was played at JTS instead of at KState, we would have beaten them, no doubt in my mind. I was amazed how quiet it was at that game last year, the rain delays didn't help (especially because we ran out of beer tailgating). This year at home we take it to the Purple Meows with a double digit win.

I have a friend who was on the football team and he said all CPR talks about is the K State game. It appears to be the one we are going after this year. I can only pray we beat them.

Doubt it, because by the time that game rolls around, I think we'll be favored. The "upset special" would be someone like OU or WVU--or OSU on the road.

No one wins more games with less talent than Bill Snyder. This years team will have more talent and depth than any Kansas State team since 2003. That said, I do not make individual game predictions but promise you all that I will be in Jack Trice wearing my purple.

True--if only because of the absolute creampuffs he historically schedules preseason.

Snyder was 4-7 and 5-6 the last two seasons before he was asked to retire. He was hired back because of the desperate situation the program was in. He's done a great job with KSU, but really did have a run of good luck last season with no major injuries, turnovers that went their way as the right time, and a favorable schedule. . They could be back to a .500 team once again if we can step it up. Their QB carried the team last season, no doubt about it.

This should NEVER happen under any circumstances!

We were there & that weather sucked! Cold as ****, would have definitely preferred snow. I look forward to it finally being in our backyard this year.

That wouldn't be surprising. 0-3 against them, and could have been 3-0 instead.

Plus, the effect on the postseason. How much more cred would Rhoads have with 3 bowl games in his first 3 years, at a place that had 9 total wins in the 3 previous years?

2011: 7-5 ISU, 7-5 Texas, and 6-6 A&M in the pool for Holiday (7-5 Cal), Meineke (6-6 NW), or Pinstripe. Could have ended up the same way, but you never know.
2010: 6-6 ISU, 7-5 Baylor, 6-6 KSU, 7-5 Tech for 3 conference tie-in spots. ISU either gets the Pinstripe nod (vs. 7-5 Syracuse), or an at-large bid to Detroit (vs. Toledo) instead of that spot going to 6-6 FIU, who got it originally when the Big Ten left it open.
2009: 7-5 ISU, 7-5 OU, 8-4 Miz, 8-4 Tech. Maybe ISU and OU swap, and ISU goes to El Paso to face 8-4 Stanford.

Absolutely need to beat them. There are few teams I hate more than the purple *******. The last 3 years have just gone farther to cement that hatred. HOWEVER- I have utmost respect for Snyder and the coaching job he has done since he has come back into the fold. Its like he came back with something to prove and the rest of the B12 has paid for it. I think it was the OP that mentioned it but he has very disciplined teams.
