I just thought I had better start this thread congratulating Doc on the work he has been doing on our defense. He made adjustment after adjustment, and lectured and taught that whole game, especially on stopping Heslip which we were having some trouble doing. He also figured out how to shut down Chery who kept getting us with his jump shot. Amazing job of coaching, he and Hoiberg make a great team.

I don't think we'd be celebrating a Big 12 title if it weren't for Doc. In fact, I think we'd only be about a 6 seed. His coaching was very important in a lot of close games this year. Well done Doc.

Yeah I saw that too. I also wonder if he was the one who called the Hogue in bounds press that got Baylor to use their last time out?

How long does he stick around? I don't know his story, is he looking for a HC position to open up?

That was hilarious and brilliant. Need gif of The Hogue chasing the Baylor guy on that play

So much going on tonight, glad someone remembered Doc, he did a fantastic job, also props to Fred for being sure enough of himself to bring in veteran coaches to augment his coaching.

He is a major key to this season. I am actually worried he gets snatched up after this season for another head coaching job. All of us need to pony up to keep him here when others start knocking.

He is a guy the players like and listen to. I remember him lecturing Naz after giving up a three which Naz went right down the court and hit another one. Naz was really fired up after hitting the three and Doc lectures him for losing Heslip. Exactly what he should have done, the game is about winning, not celebrating before the game is over. I am fine with Naz being fired up after hitting the three, but Doc did the right thing. Naz played great defense by the way.

He is a great teacher to the players, and a great advisor to Fred.

I loved watching Doc at the end of the KU game......he was just sitting there for a minute as the seconds were counting down and everybody else was starting to celebrate.......you could tell he was someone that had given everything he had, every ounce of energy and focus and knowledge to make that happen....laid it all out there. Very proud he is a Cyclone and he can coach with Fred for a long time if he wishes.
