Emiah Bingley commits to Iowa State

Saw it in print in the paper tonight. On Friday's the sports are on the back page of the Journal, and that picture of Emiah was huge! It took up about a quarter of the page. I'm sure you'll be latching onto a few copies of that.
Glad she's onboard. She's not only joining a great basketball program, but her education will be one of the best she can get. Any ideas what she wants to major in yet?

Bingley said she loves to play in front of a crowd, especially when fellow students wear T-shirts and make signs, but also smiled about how the crowd could be bigger.
“In front of a crowd is great, without a crowd, I’m still going to have to do what I have to do,†she said. “I do enjoy playing in front of a crowd, especially when its a good game and we are all playing the way we know we can play. That’s always fun when things are going our way to have that support there.â€

Just wanted to let you guys know we were in Ames this past weekend, and Emiah had a great time. We had a chance to sit in on a couple practices, spend time with coach Fen and his staff, and Emiah can't wait to get to ISU. Looking forward to seeing games this yr. just wanted you guys to know how great our time was in Ames.

I'm happy that you had a good time! I know she'll enjoy her Iowa State experience, and will love her teammates and fans! The atmosphere at Hilton is electric and playing for Bill Fennelly is a chance of a lifetime.

My sister and niece met her this weekend at the football tailgate. My niece was adopted by the women's bball team last fall and is at EVERY game and in the locker room (has her own special locker). You won't find a bigger fan than them. VERY EXCITED to meet Emiah! Welcome to the family!!!!!

Saw that two recruits were pretty excited about the practices this weekend. Sounds like they're ready to work hard and become even better over the course of the next half a year or so before heading to Ames full time. It's always refreshing hearing Fennelly, so definitely not surprised. Great to see they're excited!

Big fan showing at the Big 12 tourney is a huge recruiting impression. My mother talked to one of our recruits mothers who told her that the huge fan showing at the tourney helped her daughter decide for the red and gold. Her daughter was uber excited to play for a team with a large fan support, and for a home court with one of the largest fan support.
Kansas City region is one of our best target areas. Lots of talent. Driving distance to Ames is short enough that family can come, and kids can get away from parents without being "too far." Our biggest competitor there is K-State, for some reason Deb manages to weave kids into her web of lies.
This is absolutely awesome. I've been a a WBB fanatic since being at Iowa State in 2006 (I've since graduated) and I now work for the Tootsie Roll factory in Chicago where they make the tootsie pops! How have I not seen this article yet?! If you guys need any hookups let me know!
To the legend of the pops in ISU WBB, add Coach Fennelly. Coach thrives on pops and RedBull during long recruiting drives.
I actually sent this story to the company when it first came out. We were hoping they might do something. Even a letter back would have been cool but didn't hear anything. Last season we were listed in an article in the OKCity newspaper about the top ten people to look out for at the Big 12 tournament! Pretty cool. We are having shirts made up this year (with ISU's blessing) for the Power of the Pop crew to wear. Won't be hard to find at the games. Just let the folks at work know they are helping bring a bit of magic to our women's basketball! Talk about job satisfaction
Thanks so much, I remember her, and I remember Emiah reading the book that she had with her!! It's going to be a great time. We are looking forward to it. Emiah is working hard, and preparing herself to make an impact immediately!! She wants to help ISU win, and she wants to do it immediately!!!!
That is the type of attitude that Coach F. loves as do us fans. Can't wait to meet Emiah!
