Stupid article. I heard on a radio interview of Travis Hines that we had 6000-7000 cyclone fans at the KSU game out of 18000 or so seats. I bet we are about even tomorrow.

Lol, that is REALLY stupid and uninformed. We have twice the amount of people there as KSU for our game today. We will not outnumber KU fans, but to act like we don't have a huge fanbase in Kansas City is derpa derp dumb.

7,000 fans = little to no support. It's at a neutral sight. Lots of college teams don't get that support AT HOME.

Other than that line, it wasn't a horrible article. I'm guessing the writer and/or editor got things mixed up with talking about OSU's fan support.

True, because knowing what team and game you are writing about is hard when it is the entirety of your job. People need to stop being shocked when stupid things come out of ESPN. ESPN is simply infested with people that really know breathtakingly little about sports, specifically college sports. Throw in a non blueblood and you may as well be talking about Arizona State water polo.

Yes. The mistake was taking a quote from an OSU player about fan support — KU is going to outnumber Oklahoma State following in KC (as it would probably be with any of the Texas teams). Writer turned that into KU having massive support in that building regardless of opponent, when in fact it's relative — much more balanced if opponent is KSU or ISU.

I would imagine that ISU will have ISU fans plus fans from every other Big 12 team on their side... am I wrong on this one?

I would hope a few Baylor and Texas fans show up early to see our game and cheer for us. The straggler fans from eliminated teams too. Kansas is a common enemy when it comes to basketball.

No need to get knotted up. On TV, they predict a Cyclone victory over KU. Enjoy the moment dudes!
