This is from wiki:What's the cutoff for the "year"? Is it simply the calendar year?
athletic achievement and other sports-related performance during the calendar year preceding a given annual ceremony
VCU won biggest upset last year when they beat Kansas. I think the calender year thing wrong.. I believe its just 1 year running from July-July.Not a lot of time left for something to top it. I'm sure that there is stuff from earlier in the year, maybe VCU's Final Four run, but our game will easily be the freshest upset with probably the biggest implications. Really, ESPN should just rig the thing so they can get Rhoads on stage.
Who here thinks that the game against Oklahoma State will win Iowa state the ESPY for biggest upset of the year? Obviously it was the biggest upset in college football and I would say it is pretty much a no brainer for them to win it.
You do recognize that the less they think of us and our program, the more likely we are to win this award (and then be called a "bad team" again on very prominent TV). I would much prefer "greatest comeback" or "best storming of the field." Hopefully, they will present us as "coming of age" in this game, not just getting lucky (or worse, taking advantage of OSU while it was "mourning," bah).
