Will the Big 12 sit back with 10 teams after getting screwed in the CFP? Who are the reasonable candidates to get back to 12 teams?

There arent any good football options. Maybe tolerable ones, but not good ones. Good basketball additions, but thats chump change!

Well, unless we can poach ACC.

Cincy, uconn, memphis, BYU and Boise St. I say Boise St because of good fball background and basketball recently has been respectful and only consider Boise St if BYU is added. But yeah, BYU also has their own tv station as well. So 3rd tier rights would mesh smoothly. Just my $.02

Due to the expansion options for the Big 12 I think the best option would be to try to get the other power leagues to sign off on letting us have two 5-team divisions with a conference championship game (stay at 10 teams).

Id put money against us adding anyone, but I'll say if we had to that UCF is still the best add.

That being said, theyre not going to make us money right away (none of the potential options will), i just feel like theyre a good investment with their large student body and growing alumni base. Elevate them to the big stage and its a growth investment. Id also rather not grab BYU.

Only way to have championship game us if we add 2 more teams. NCAA currently set up, so 10/11 team leagues don't have championship games. Why big 10 didn't have a championship game until Nebraska joined.

How about CSU. They just appoved a new fb stadium. They had a decent football season and have decent bb team. Plus it would just be fun to rub it in the nose of CU.

I like UCF as well. I think ECU is in the same boat that UCF is. Take UCF and ECU, help them grow their brands, and it won't be long until both aren't total succubi to the conference.

wouldnt any additions not take effect for two years? No way we can poach someone and get them in for next season, right?

Might this be different now though with power 5 autonomy, don't think we would have to go through the NCAA necessarily.

I know Cinci Uconn or Memphis are more popular choices, but I agree on BYU Boise. BYU is national brand solid in FB and Basketball. Boise is most popular football brand of the non big 5. Look at how often ESPN chooses to have them on. ESPN wouldnt do that if they didn't get ratings. It is about the TV these days and those two have more tv draw even though their markets are smaller.
