I saw an old interview on YouTube where this dude was trying to get SC to dis on groups using drum machines and he was like "Oh yes, I use a drum machine (with his drums) on (the studio version of) Reggatta de Blanc"...innovativor...
Yeah, he really was. I know he was also tapped to write the score for some big movies as well and I think did some TV show themes too.

That album is filled with outstanding songs...it includes my all-time favorite Cougar (I mean Mellencamp) song (tied with "Check It Out")..."Minutes to Memories" which certainly doesn't get the fanfare of his big hits:

That is an awesome song. Love to listen to it on the way to Cyclone football games.

Last two tracks on Van Halen’s 1984 album: Girl Gone Bad and House of Pain.

CCR had several b side records that charted pretty well. This is my favorite.

@Kinch - you’re pulling on my heart strings. This was a group of friends of mine “closing song” in college after a night out.

A lot of memories to this song and even more events/experiences that can’t be recalled.

Great tune!!

Can’t find it on You Tube; Jimi Hendrix - VooDoo Chile.

The 15min original with Steve Winwood on the organ; not the 5 minute Slight Return version that everyone knows.

Another one I have a lost memory of listening to rattling in my mind, but you just don’t hear it any more …

This song actually charted twice, in 1979 and again in 1981 (after a brand-new MTV started playing the video), but never got above number 77. I definitely recall the tune, but since I never saw MTV until it finally got to my college town in the spring of 1983 I doubt it was there. Maybe it got some airplay on the radio stations I listened to in high school? I dunno. Anyway, it just sounds like 1979-1980 to me.
