Even if the NCAA knew what was happening... which i have no doubt they have for a long time, there is a HUGE gap between knowing what was going on and being able to prove it. NCAA lacks the ability to get that proof. FBI doesn't lack that ability. This is different.
If the NCAA knew what was happening, crimes in this case, they didn't need to prove it to report it. Did the people at PSU need to prove be able to prove Sandusky was a pedo to alert authorities?

Very few if any are suggesting that not taking away scholarships from a Louisville made the NCAA complicit, but if they were aware of the financial crimes

Yea... that is a really good point. Really good.

KU says they are conducting their own investigation. They will get to the bottom of this...

Of course they are.

Yes, I'm drawing assumptions based on known facts. High character guys generally don't end up as drunks in jail.

@surly, we get it, you're a K-state fan. You're one on the only non-Cyclones in here that I actually read, but that purple font has got to. It is just not easy to read and as someone who wants to read you're posts, please make it stop

Surly is not the only K-State fan on this forum. I do not always agree with his views. I prefer to stick to facts instead of speculation. One subject the we will agree on is that no one ever accused Frank Martin of being a choir boy.

LOL, I'd hope not, Frank pulled this crap in high school coaching.

I like Frank a lot BTW.

Our sources both say it's unclear if anyone on the Kansas coaching staff knew about Adidas' interference in the recruitment of Williamson.

*cough***YEAHRIGHT***cough*
You think this 25 year old kid from North Carolina has these alleged "sources"? No wonder the Fake News worked and we now have Donald Trump as President. People are easily willing to believe anything they WANT to be true.

I suspect that the NCAA will only be indicted by the FBI if evidence is uncovered that the apparel companies provided them unrecorded money. I'm sure the companies have paid for use of the NCAA trademark but if there are no other payments, I doubt there is anything the FBI can do to them.

I also agree with the others that think some knowledgeable people in the NCAA organization, like many high level coaches, knew or suspected strongly that this was going on but they didn't want to blow the whistle because they couldn't adequately prove it and the personal damage to their careers was too great. Many "in-the-know" but not participating in the practice may even have tacitly agreed with the practice to keep the spotlight on and money flowing in the sport.

As cracks go, that seems medium-sized. There's no evidence I can see that money was exchanged on KU's behalf in this case, but depending on the evidence and witness testimony available, there could be enough for a conspiracy charge against some KU folks.
There is no evidence that any of the things this kid is reporting actually happened at all.

Have we not learned anything from the last 18 months of fake news?

Glad to see you came back with your talking points.

I don't think a Kansas fan crying "fake news" is the arbiter of whether there's evidence or not.
It's also clear that you don't know what fake news was all about, and that you really think we're going to join in defending the honor of Kansas here.

I've been hearing people throw out the name Carlton Bragg. Adidas AAU, Adidas Kansas, Adidas ASU. Mark Titus was saying the way that Self used Bragg it seemed as if Bragg was essentially sprung on him, and he felt obligated to play him, but when he realized he was useless he made him ride pine and that is when he started looking elsewhere. Idk if this is true, but he said his AAu coach was out lobbying for him again in the transfer market, eventually landing at Arizona State, another Adidas school.
So basically we have created a world where if a player goes from an Adidas AAU program to an Adidas school, it is because Adidas steered them to do it and if they go from a Nike AAU program to an Adidas school it is because Adidas outbid Nike for their services. It's called created alternative facts to fit your argument for a scenario you hope exists.

Should I publish a story about how I have two "unnamed sources" who state that a big bag of cash was the reason Lindell Wiggington went from 100% Oregon in his Crystal Ball prediction the day before his commitment to an Iowa State commit? See how easy this is?

No, just pointing out it is silly to start speculating about what the punishment for Kansas should be when there is zero evidence that anything written in that silly article is even remotely true. I have zero interest in changing anyone's mind here; I am not foolish enough to believe that this is an option.

Just pumping the brakes on the lynch mob. Kansas Athletics Department has made numerous statements that they have had zero contact from the federal government. If they are lying then making that statement accomplishes nothing but plant a grenade between their own legs and pulling the pin. I doubt some Duke fan in North Carolina knows more about the case than the actual people doing the investigating.

I admit to connecting dots here. If you're incapable of doing that or choose to not care about guys like Hill, that's fine with me. I'm just explaining why I hope Frank Martin is exposed if he's part of this, which I believe to be the case.

Bell called Smith and asked her the amount of her rent and her car payment and told her that both payments would be taken care of. Smith said they were paid for, and that she never made a rent or car payment during Beasley’s entire freshman year as a player for Kansas State during the 2007-08 season, the suit says.

Regardless, though , if Martin was dirty at K State, K State should get punished right? This is definitely too big to let the AD handle in house by firing Martin.

Just spit-balling here...based on this comment, I'm guessing the bat signal finally brought Tuco to this thread? Took four pages. He's slipping!

I was just saying what I heard stated by Mark Titus. I didn't publish a story or say that Bragg is or isn't guilty of following money. Just stating what I heard. And many people nationally have been asking if Kansas is clean in this as they are an Adidas flagship program, not just this message board.

I just hope the FBI doesn't come asking me what I know.
