What are your predictions for first team all-Big 12?

I think it will be the following:
Ejim and Kane, ISU
Wiggins and Embiid, KU
Staten, WVU

Marcus Smart will go from unanimous preseason All-American to not even making first team conference.

Right now that's what I would go with as well. He might still get it, but who knows how long he'll be suspended. Could be for a while if the Tech fan didn't say anything.

could be two years in a row where preseason player of the year point guard doesn't make 1st team. Drew and Ford!

We've had 3 of these this week. How about we change this one to conference player of the year? I'd say right now it's Ejim. Discuss.

I would love to see two ISU players on the Big 12 first team, but seriously doubt Kane and Ejim will both be named to the first team.

I think Smart could lose his spot depending on the fallout from last night.

Kane, Staten, Wiggins, Ejim, Embiid is probably the best guess right now.

In no order... Smart (OSU), Hield (OU), Holmes (UT), Ellis (KU), Harris (WVU), Foster (KSU), Clark (OU), Niang, Jefferson (BU), Crockett (TTU) all in the mix for 2nd team as well. Might have forgotten somebody.

Ejim should be on that team, just like last year. I think he'll be left off.

Smart should not be on that team, but he will be on it.

There's a whole bunch of topnotch talent in this league, so somebody will suffer.

Kane gives the Big 12 a valid reason to leave Smart off of 1st team.

Getting two on 2nd team will be tough unless we can establish ourselves as the second best team in the conference by at least 2 games over third place. (win out or maybe drop one) Beating WVa could lead to a long winning streak going into those final two road games, but still a lot of BB to play before then.

Most people are saying that Kane and Ejim are the leading candidates for player of the year right now.

True. Again, I would love to see both get on the first team all-conf. list. Just saying I doubt they will. I would love to be proven wrong.

If Smart gets suspended for more than one game he will be out of the running for 1st team. I agree with the:

Kane & Ejim -ISU
Wiggins & Embiid - Kansas
Staten - WV

If Staten and WV drop off due to their tough remaining schedule, that may open up a spot for someone to rise up. Maybe Taylor for Texas, Hield for OU, Tharpe for Kansas or Niang for ISU. Depends on the remaining games and their performances. Top four look pretty set though. Embiid needs to get back on track to stay in there, though.

Next in line would be Smart, Holmes, maybe Hield. Tharpe and Niang don't belong on first team.

I don't think Embiid is going to deserve 1st unless he can start staying on the court. He's a great player, but a lot of his best games came prior to B12 play, and he's had some real duds.

If Ejim and Kane played for Kansas, they would both be on the 1st team. Of course, Kane will be Newcomer of the Year. 3 in a row for ISU?

Ejim is battling Embiid for POY. After last night no way he is left off. The guy is starting to get the respect he's earned and if you still refuse to admit that he's being recognized your not watching hard enough.
