I got my old nintendo from my parents house when I went back for christimas. The Nintendo was doing the blue screen to black screen thing. I did some research and found that its caused by a worn out piece called 72 pin connector. I took it apart and got the piece out. To get the piece ordered it will only cost $5.

I am looking forward to Playing Duck Hunt.

Anybody else fix their old nintendo?

yeah, all you got to do is blow into the games and system really hard and it should start working again

That only works for so long. When it gets old enough you gotta replace the part. I even took condenced air into the system. The part is pretty easy to install though

I've had similar problems with my SNES. Over time, blowing in it wont fix it. The dust builds up on the pin contact points, and you actually have to take a q-tip soaked in alcohol to remove the caked on dust. Once I did that, it worked like a charm.

I repaired mine a few years back, it was really simple and well worth the couple bucks for a new connector. More time gaming and less time hitting it and blowing into the cartridges.

just to forewarn you, duck hunt does not work well at all when the nintendo is hooked up to an hd tv. i experienced this first hand after finding duck hunt at gamers and then excitedly rushing home to pop it in, only to find that it was impossible to hit anything with the zapper. that definitely ruined my day.
