Flag Guy, where are you? We haven't seen you run the upper deck during the last tv timeout in the last 2 games. Why not, we miss you!!!

They banned me from doing that a long time ago... I kept doing it anyways. They were going to kick me out last year but they actually haven't said anything to me about it this year. Apperently I get someone in a lot of trouble when I do that

I chose not to run the last 2 games, for a couple of different reasons but one of them is the crowd just doesn't respond to it the way they used to - the whole point of what I do is to rally the crowd near the end of the game... if the crowd doesn't get excited by it then all I'm doing is risking getting thrown out every time I do it (and since they are using a barcode scanner this year - they actually could throw me out quite easily)

That aside, I won't be running at the next few games because I will be out of town. I graduated in December and am looking for a job - I have an interview out in Maryland the first week of February so I'll be missing A&M and Texas... maybe I'll run for Colorado and if I'm in town for Nebraska

I know there are people that still enjoy what I do and I appreciate the support (especially everyone in the South East corner), but my time at ISU is about up and I'd like to enjoy my last few games in Hilton, rather than listening on the radio

Plus we've actually won the last 2 games. Keep not running

We win when I put less effort in? This sounds like a win win situation for me

Quick, get me an Easy Boy and a beer for the next game!

Best of luck finding a job...... right now, you need to find an understudy to take the "Flag Guy" job and "run with it."

The thought crossed my mind last year - until a very angry staff member almost threw me out because he gets in trouble when I run

Thanks for the wishes

(And Wes, that Free Flag Guy/Hire Him Too! makes my day...)

Whats the story behind the box? CAC had just finished handing out the props before the game and one of the commitee people put a box on someone's head... reminded me of playing in a box as a kid (where you sit in there and pretend it's a car), so I grabbed one and sat in it as a joke. The Des Moines Register guy happened to be walking by with his camera to capture the moment (We were actually singing the fight song at the time of the photo...)

I don't care how stupid it looks, the box was fun

Also gave me an idea - insted of the apple shuffle we should have the Cyclone Alley Box "car" race

Several Alley members in the prop boxes with their friends pushing them
