Florida gulf coast in the tournament

As some of you may remember, FGCU was a cupcake team we played early in the year. I guess they are a lot better than they showed when they played us because now they are going dancing after winning their conference tourny today.

it helps. FGCU was at 104 RPI before today. At 92 after the win. Gives ISU another top 100 win.

They were never a cupcake, very solid team that beat Miami earlier. Played us tough in Hilton too. Really happy for McKnight!

Yeah, not your classic cupcake team, some of those low-major teams can be pretty good (like Norfolk State last year). I can see them being a #15 or #16 seed that plays the higher seed tough for about 30 minutes before finally losing steam.

I'm happy for McKnight as well. Pretty cool story actually. This is only their 2nd year of eligibility and they've already made the tournament.

Seems that most everyone associated with ISU lately has gotten some tournament experience.
