Im up on the roof as much as anyone, but i thought the offense looked way better today. The defense did it usual thing, solid as a rock in 2nd half.

Unfortunately special teams cost 7 pts on a kick return. Punting cost us probably 70 yards of field position. I can't and won't fault a barely missed 47 yarder.

This game is a 10 point win, if mevis hits the one kickoff 3 yards farther and we dont make a couple boners in the punt game.

THAT said, there are a bunch of toss up games on the schedule, and if we lose the special teams phase, we will really struggle to win any of them.
Agree 100%

We are a much more talented team than we were even 5 or 6 years ago but we still lack overall team speed.

ISU is better than Baylor. The refs missed a rather crucial block in the back on the Baylor kick off TD. Baylor didn't do $hit in the 2nd half. ISU will be fine. Relax folks. Be mad today, next week is October. We will kick ass the rest of the way.
And they missed as blatant a hold on Breece picking up the blitz as you’ll ever see on a long completion setting the second to last TD. You watch kickoffs and there are holds and blocks in the back all the time, yet big returns are very rare. Bottom line for two years the special teams have mostly been embarrassingly terrible. The KO return, the long punt return that put them right into FG range, and massive field position changes from punting absolutely lost the game. If ISU plays even on ST they win by two scores.

I'd say:
Kansas - W by 21
KSU - W by 3
OSU - L by 7
WVU - L by 3
Texas - W by 3
Texas Tech - W by 14
Oklahoma - W by 3
TCU - L by 7
Final 8-5

good lord that breece hall blitz pickup was hilarious. Bear hugged the guy without even the faintest attempt at a proper block.

all this crap about us being fine is just that: crap. They’re obviously not fine. They lost. End of story. Doesn’t really matter how many yards you outgain them by if they score more points than you. Points are what matters. I think people are legitimately losing track of this on this forum, lol. “But we outgained them so we’re clearly better and should have won”. ********. They scored more points. The end.

ISU special teams are inconceivably bad. I’ve never seen anything like it. I quite seriously can’t understand how Dunn is still allowed to punt and why our punt return unit still does what it does. It’s literally losing games for us. Campbell is definitely showing a blind spot here for some reason. I really give zero ***** how the stuff looks in practice that leads them to believe it should work in games. It’s clearly and evidently NOT working and needs changed last year.
