No time like the present to put out a win/loss forecast. Why?
1. our defense was exposed after putting up gaudy stats against horrid offenses
2. our offense still can’t seem to consistently get that short yardage we need. The O line is playing way below expectations. Just like Iowa the offense has much more overall production than Baylor and can’t get it done.
3. penalties and fumbles. Ugh.
4. Special teams strike again. Horrid punting. Double ugh. Return for a TD. Triple ugh
5. we can’t trade fg's for td's like they did today
6. Add to the list of what all was horrible today as we played a very average Big 12 team.

remaining schedule:
KU - win (3-2)
KSU - loss (3-3)
OSU - loss (3-4)
WVU - tossup…lean loss (3-5)
Texas - loss (3-6)
TTU - win (4-6)
Ou - loss (4-7)
TCU - tossup (5-7)

Do I really believe it will be that bad? No. So, why so pessimistic? This team has yet to show it can play at a high level against good competition. If it plays like it did today or against Iowa it could indeed lose all of those games. Talk amongst yourselves.

We do this every September. This year was supposed to be better, I get it. And yet again, I don't know where the wins will come from either. But we'll win more than 5 games.

After the first half I would have agreed. But once again zero second half td's against the defense. And 282yds overall is fantastic defense.

Agreed on the short yardage deal. But the oline improved this week.

3. penalties and fumbles. Ugh.

Ok.

4. Special teams strike again. Horrid punting. Double ugh. Return for a TD. Triple ugh

100%

5. we can’t trade fg's for td's like they did today

Eh, it's not ideal, but that wasn't why we lost.

I disagree. I think Baylor might be top 3 in the conference. As of now, I'd say it's ou then UT, osu and Baylor in the top 4.

The defense was exposed for giving up under 300 yards? Explain more please....

Im up on the roof as much as anyone, but i thought the offense looked way better today. The defense did it usual thing, solid as a rock in 2nd half.

Unfortunately special teams cost 7 pts on a kick return. Punting cost us probably 70 yards of field position. I can't and won't fault a barely missed 47 yarder.

This game is a 10 point win, if mevis hits the one kickoff 3 yards farther and we dont make a couple boners in the punt game.

THAT said, there are a bunch of toss up games on the schedule, and if we lose the special teams phase, we will really struggle to win any of them.

I agree, it’s every September, but it’s going to be interesting this time to see how motivated this core of seniors will be. A lot of these kids came back to win a conference championship and get to the sugar bowl. Now, that looks out the window and it’s still September. Will be interested to see what their focus level is now.

Other than KU, we never get good separation from any team and it comes down to the last 8 minutes of EVERY SINGLE GAME. Get your drinking game tuned up.
