My high school track coach had a solution to this problem --

"Start running and stop when I tell you to."

Worked pretty well.

Love me some CMC but what did he do here? Indefinitely? They could be back tomorrow and play week 1.
Four freshman that weren't going to see the field anyway... not like he laid down the law by anymeans.

That being said it was probably the right punishment - wouldn't have minded a slap on the wrist on this one except for it seemed there was more to the story.
wrong.

Did you read the full release? They are excluded from any team activities and facilities. That's laying down the law pretty heavily dependent on the time frame which will probably depend on their responsiveness to the punishment.

School has been in session for a week and already these guys have gone knucklehead. There have been cases of guys going from knucklehead freshman to senior team role model but I'd say these guys are on thin ice and face long odds of graduating from ISU.

Perhaps a visit from Mama to read them the riot act would help.

Its moreso people saying how tough he laid down the law, much tougher than TOE.

We don't know if he did anything yet. They could be reinstated tomorrow. They could be out the whole year.
Indefinites fine here, let it blow over a bit and reinstate them in few weeks. I'm one for thinking this wasn't a big deal.

Is he supposed to wait until they're seeing playing time before he suspends them?

What's the slap on the wrist?

Being withheld from team activities means less learning with the team.

Agree. Being isolated from the team will be tougher than say a one game suspension. Having to earn the right to rejoin their teammates is a much better learning opportunity. Makes every player look at themselves too. Love this staff.
