Ask and you shall receive:How has no one made a mention of #34? Guy looks like he just crawled out of a tavern hok men's league game.
Northwestern+Nebraska+Rutgers+PSU < Hilton
Northwestern, Nebraska, Rutgers, PSU are not Hilton
Oh, he knows. He can't say it, but he knows. Ask him again at his next job.
Not sure if this has already been posted but Fran doesn't seem to show too much respect for Hilton. Something tells me Gesell might think differently.
"Every game in our league on the road is like this one."
He also said that the Hawkeyes face a comparable environment at Marquette.

Comparing Hilton to the HMO Harris Bradley Center (Marquette home venue) is idiotic. The paid attendance at the Iowa/Marquette game was 13,300. I assume the actual attendance was much less. The capacity is 18,800.
For reference, I was in Milwaukee this week and attended the Marquette/San Jose State game. The listed attendance was 11,800 but I would "Bet the House" that there were less than 4000 actually in attendance. Fran is either an idiot for comparing the venues or for trying to troll our fan base, which also makes him an idiot.
I don't get that. Why can't he say it? Hilton is loud for big games. That's a proven fact. You can say you've played at similar arenas, but to say every Big10 away game is similar just makes you sound stupid.
Why can't you just say, "It's a tough environment, but we'll figure it out."?
Does it make it sound like he's making excuses?
I wouldn't want to go play a game up in New Brunswick... scary scarlet knights. scaryyyy place
Fran's teams typically play well on the road, FWIW. They've won at tOSU, Wisconsin, Indiana, Michigan...They even had a road win at Virginia during their great run for the 'ship a few years ago.
All of the players + Fran (except Bucktooth Man) have been downplaying the game.
In other words:
We win.
