How could this be a shock to anybody? I'm surprised he hasn't had a heart attack on the floor...

In all seriousness, I hope he gets better soon. He may act like a psycho, but he seems like a good guy.

Martin had surgery on one of his knees. The clot appeared on the knee a few days later. He is out of the hospital but goes back daily to receive treatment and medication to dissolve the clot.

Martin is a good coach, but, a tiger can't change his stripes. I still predict his coaching career will go down in a ball if flames due to NCAA violations. If not at K-State then some stop down the road.

I will not say it will never happen but don't hold your breath! Martin had a tremendous opportunity to cheat when he let Southern Cal have OJ Mayo. He could have entered into the bidding war for the one and done point guard that he needed badly. KSU most likely would have made a deep run into the tournament with Mayo onboard.

Even for all the **** people talk about Martin...he still is a really awesome coach. K-State is lucky to have a coach with as much prestige and commitment. Hope Frank is better soon.

I can't be the first person to read that and think the clot must be what causes that vein on his forehead.

In all seriousness, I think he makes K-State a better team, and thus the Big 12 a better league. Hope he recovers well.

Nice touch!

I agree that he makes them a better team and the league is better for having him.

He also fills a niche that most coaches can't. He makes it even easier to cheer against KSU when we play them (as if we need more reason), but makes it easy to cheer for them when they play somebody else. He's an easy one to respect.
