Big game in Central IA tonight is Valley's homecoming vs Dowling. Valley has improved a ton since breaking in a new soph qb in week one who seems to be starting to settle in. Dowling's Defense with at least 2 D1 players in Max Morris and Nick Wilson.

CR Washington and LinnMar on the east side of the state to see if LinnMar is for real starting the season 3-0. Wash is the pick by many (along with Bettendorf) on that side of the state to make it to semis.

Johnston and Waukee has some nice story lines. Can Waukee bounce back to show they are better than they played last week or is Johnston for real right now at 3-0 after having their stud TB move down to SEC country during the offseason?

Southeast Polk and Centennial. SEP has had a brutal schedule so far with opponents being a combined 7-2 and faces 3-0 Centennial tonight. Has Centennial shown they are back at the top this fast after the split? Haven't played anyone that great yet but SEP will be a nice test tonight.

HUmbolt and Carroll in 3A will probably decide that district tonight. Blue collar mentality in both those teams will have some hard hitting going on tonight. Would probably be my pick of non 4A games to go to tonight.

Xavier finally gets a little reprieve this week with DeWitt after an aggressive scheduling start to the season.

Pella and Norwalk has the preseason makings of a good game but Norwalk hasn't quite got all on the same page yet I don't think.

I watched that Valley QB last week against SE Polk. He is very impressive, especially for a sophomore. Granted, it was against a team that is not good, but still has a lot of poise and ability.

That district is going to come down to Chariton/Pella... playing in the final week.

Centennial hasn't beaten anyone extremely good, but they've still beaten Ames on the road and Ankeny who is much improved this year. With the win over Ames, and a win over Valley, Centennial wins that division. Valley has some catching up to do.

I'd like to see a game at Linn-Mar; haven't been there since 2009 on the old Armstrong Field. Heard the new stadium is gorgeous.

I really don't see Valley being able to beat Dowling tonight. Dowling is just too good this year.

If Dowling punks Valley tonight like they did Waukee last week, the 4A season will get a lot less interesting with a bunch of schools playing for 2nd.

I have only been to the new stadium once and it is awesome. A year or so ago they built an indoor pool right next to it as well (on top of the old baseball field). Armstrong will always have a place in our hearts.

#9 Ballard vs #5 Gilbert in 3A should be a great game. It's at Ballard, and Ballard has a tough offense, but Gilbert has a stud QB/LB. Should be fun.

Second ranked 1A South Winn @ fifth ranked 2A New Hampton should be a good one in northeast Iowa.

Wash is on top of Linn-Mar 43-3 at half including a pick six and two point conversion 40 seconds before half.

As a Newton grad, I'm glad to see they're a half away from being 4-0. Pretty surprised they beat Marshalltown in week 2.

My school is Nevada. They are playing CMB this week can't find a score. We were 2A last year now we are 3A this year and Newton is in our district. Wasn't Newton always a 4A school?
