Thanks so much to @WooBadger18 for today’s idea!

What are some “hills” about famous movies that you’re willing to die on. It could be about plot points, movies being overrated or underrated, etc.

For example - I recently rewatched a version of “Romeo and Juliet.” Other than his “I’ll be a grave man” pun, that whole play would have been made more interesting if it had been about Mercutio.

I'm willing to go along with Spielberg and agree that Back to the Future with Eric Stoltz would have been considerably worse than the classic it is with MJF.

Have you ever watched the show (I think it's called Beyond the Story or Behind the Scenes) they do about certain movies? They did one on the Back to the Future trilogy and they had a good segment on this alone about how they had shot a lot of footage already and there just wasn't chemistry there with Eric. MJF became available and they had to basically start all over again but the on screen chemistry was noticeably improved immediately and the rest is history from there. Had they released the 1st movie with Eric as Marty I'm not so sure they would have ever made a 2nd or 3rd. There are a lot of good tidbits about that movie in that documentary about how that movie almost never happened too.

The absolute creepiness of most all Disney princess movies is just kind of glossed over and I'm troubled by it. You can't just kidnap people, Beast. You can't get married when you are 14, Ariel. Locking your kid in a dungeon is child abuse, whatever-the-hell Rapnunzel's mom's name is.

Brave is the most underrated Disney princess movie.

So I watched most of titanic a few weeks ago (I missed the first hour and the final door scene because it’s like 5 hours on tv) and Billy Zane’s character Cale absolutely should have died during the sinking of the titanic. There was absolutely no good reason to keep him alive. He’s a fictional character, so you didn’t need to keep him alive for historical accuracy. Titanic is also not a gritty period drama, so you don’t need to keep him alive to make some grand point about how the wealthy bad guys actually do win (and the writers had him commit suicide off screen so clearly there was supposed to be some kind of karmic justice). The rest of the movie was very well done, but that was a mistake

Indiana Jones’ participation in Raiders of the Lost Ark was completely inconsequential. In fact, the Nazis would not have found the Ark if not for his actions…he, if anything, helped the Nazis.
