We typically take down the decor the first full weekend after Jan. 1, so this season it'll be about as late as ever. Like others have noted, my spousal usually decides when to decorate and when to un-decorate. Then I proceed as necessary.

I haven't plugged in the living room tree lights the past couple of days.

We've have minimal outdoor lighting in recent years, so it's not like our nightly display looks "old news" to neighbors.

I actually like my Christmas decorations more after Christmas. The lights and general cheeriness is welcome during the bleak nights of January. And I concede that Christmas technically lasts through the 12 days after Christmas. But by then, I'm still not sick of everything. So my tree usually stays up until MLK weekend or the weekend after. The general winter decorations stay up until March.

I like to wait until at least January 2nd. Like @cyclones500 I used to just do it the weekend after New Years. Now that I'm retired I don't have to wait to do that.

This year it came down on New Years Day. Either that or watch SEC/B1G football, so it was a good choice. We were having guests on the second so it made sense. The condo is not that big so putting the furniture back in its normal layout made entertaining better.

I like having the tree up, but it will probably come down this weekend. Living room always feels empty, but since we got a boatload of new toys for the 8 month old for Christmas, I am guessing those will now fill that spot.
They will fill that spot and every other bit of free space in your house. I don't miss all of the toys my kid got between birth and 3. It was ridiculous.

My wife has had the inside decorations down by noon on Christmas Day the last two years. The outside lights stay up until it’s nice enough to get on the roof.

We get a "real" tree every year.

Since the Ankeny doesn't believe in the 12 days of Christmas (ends Jan. 5th) and schedules their city-wide tree removal beginning on January 2nd, ours comes down on the 1st.

In the Denver metro area, it is accepted/encouraged to leave the outdoor lights lit through the end of the National Western Stock show which likely ends on the 21st. the indoor tree comes down tomorrow. the out door lights will come down the next decent day.

I didn’t hang up lights this year, but I typically stop turning those on at some point between new years and epiphany.

The tree’s still up. It looks nice and January is always so dark so it helps with that. Plus, I don’t really have room to store it in my apartment, my parents are enough to let me store it at their place the rest of the year, and I won’t be seeing them until later in January. So it makes sense to leave it up until I go and see them

My wife absolutely despises clutter. The combo of decorations everywhere with the toys and crap from Christmas drives her bonkers.

Keep it up for the 12 days of Christmas, because, well, it’s Christmas.

Everything stays out up and on until January 2nd… then it all gets put away on the 2nd.

The tree came down today but the lights are still on the outside of the house, they act as a yard light though so they will remain on for a while

I still have the lights wound around the outside tree up that I couldn't easily get to without a ladder (laziness). At this point I am just considering leaving them up all year.
