This show doesn't technically fit since it was two seasons and I'm not even sure how I remembered it but it just popped into my head...but it was called Life with Damian Lewis. I remember really liking it but who knows it could have been terrible.

Mrs. Velo and I watched the first season. It was actually pretty good as I remembered it. At that time I still had no idea that Damien Lewis is a Brit.

Two of them happen to be Jimmy Smits shows

Cane - this was a good one, also starred Hector Elizondo
Bluff City Law - had some good supporting cast to it I thought
Blood & Oil - Don Johnson was kind of a badass in this one I thought

I'd forgotten about "Life". It was good. Damien Lewis as a LA detective released from prison after being wrongly convicted of murder. Awarded millions after wrongful conviction Trying to resume his old job despite the dislike by other police. Has a fetish for fresh fruit. Plus few appearances by Christian Hendricks!

I know that Freaks and Geeks is amazing as well, but how many seasons could they have done before they start to look too old or run out of ideas? I admit it's awesome, but gotta be 3 seasons tops. Firefly would have launched an entire 'verse.

Squid Game for another two months counts right? That second season could always get pulled still yet.

Happy Days is a great example. They already looked too old for high school when it started. It managed to go on for 11 seasons. Most people forgot the "jump the shark" was not the last season.... that happened in season 5.

What is your favorite TV show that only lasted one season?
I can only think of one recent one. Orphan Black: Echoes. I was sort of getting into it. I never realized until just now that it was a sequel to another Sci-Fi show called Orphan Black.

However, my very favorite show that was cancelled that really doesn't fit this category because it lasted longer than one year, was Greatest American Hero. I just thought it was a very unique premise for a show: An ordinary schoolteacher gets a close encounter of the third kind, during which they leave him a suit with magical powers and a set of instructions on how to use it. He loses the instructions, so he's not quite sure what the suit can do or how to use it properly, leading to all sorts of high jinks and surprises. The casting of Robert Culp as the very serious Alpha male FBI agent who thought he was in control of our "hero," played by William Katt, was inspired. Besides, Connie Sellecca was in it and it had the best theme song ever. "Believe it or Not" became a hit, reaching No. 2 on the Billboard chart. It's unfathomable to me how it only last three seasons.

Another that was cancelled way too soon for my liking was Battlestar Gallactica, which lasted four seasons. It was better than Star Trek, IMO. The rumored reason they cancelled it was because it cost too much to produce because of all the elaborate sets. I find that hard to believe (once you build a set, you don't have to build it for every show) but that was the rumor at the time.

Could only think was Freak and Greeks for the best one.

Should I watch Firefly or be sad knowing it got canceled?

There were a few sitcoms that I thought they were sooo great. Great actors, and great characters, sooo funny, yet they had terrible names that people didn't even try (like i said, this is stupid name).

Trophy Wife, Selfie, The B on B23.

Also. A cartoon i liked in early 2000s, called Mission Hill.
