My family was dirt poor so therefore college me was dirt poor, so all spring break was for me was the opportunity to get 40+ hours of pay for the week.

I think 2 years I stayed on campus and worked and 2 years I went on ski trips. Once to SLC and the other I can't remember where...all the winter and spring break ski trips have kinda meshed together.

Haven't been on a beach vacation since I was a little kid. I now live in a ski town.

And I was in college during the McDermott years, so watching the Cyclones play live in the NCAA tourney wasn't really an option.

Worked for two and went to Texas for the third. Wichita Falls, TX (wife's stomping grounds). Had a blast, but Wichita Falls =/= Padre.

Acapulco one year, Bahamas another. Wouldn't trade either for anything. It was a ****show, but that's what i enjoyed about college spring break.

Are those saying "work" implying that the rest are spoiled no good kids still living off the parents?

I've had better times at the big 12 tourney and watching the first round of march madness than on spring break, but that's me. Never really wanted to go to a typical destination after hearing stories from other people.

My parents paying for my tuition and me working all summer way the only reason I could go. Some people have absolutely no help and can't go and work instead, and I respect that. However, there are some student who's parents pay for their spring break, and I never got that.

I'm not. Just saying that was an opportunity to get as many hours as I wanted and save a little money when everyone else was vacationing. I couldn't afford the missed opportunity nor the additional expenses. I had friends who were not much better situated that partied over spring break but they paid for it (or more accurately couldn't) in the end.

I'm saying I was poor and so was my family so I worked as many hours as possible to survive and still get an education. Mine wasn't a judgement of anyone else's experience.

Went to Padre two spring breaks ago and stopped at Babb Bro's BBQ in Dallas to watch ISU kick Notre Dame's butt on tv. Got to meet a lot of ISU fans down there, awesome time.
