Just crazy to even think getting rid of Frost after 6 games. Yeah, he didn't look like a coaching genius yesterday, so that doesn't help, but he seems like a guy that will recruit well. Players do make a huge difference, and despite the recruiting ranking, NU looks like it is slow, and lost on defense. It usually takes time to get a team back up to speed after a coaching change. Remember how bad ISU looked in CMC's first year? Especially in the first few games.

The fact this is even coming up is hysterical. The fan base lucked into the hottest up-and-coming coach being a native son and alumni last year, which bought them a couple months of magical thinking.

Realistically, who was their Plan B if Frost said no? Who would even interview if the let him go?

The whole program has rotted - nothing seems salvageable. Thus far, Frost has shifted all the blame for their struggles. I really don’t think that type of leadership is going to build the type of culture that leads to success.

Of course, it doesn’t help that the fanbase views the program as a turn-key National Power for the right coach. It’s not.

Time will tell on Frost, but his coching pedigree is mostly based on being the OC for an Oregon program that was humming while the rest of the PAC 12 was relatively weak. He parlayed that into a HC job in the best recruiting area of the country in a weak second tier conference. It’s easy to build a winning culture when you’re winning. When you’re losing and the fanbase is sniping at you in a fishbowl like Lincoln - good luck.

Christ- they need to give the guy some time. Clearly a bigger rebuild than they anticipated.

Let me Frost, coach.

They weren't as bad last year as they are right now. Frost comes across as a real *******. His team clearly sucks, but his coaching has done them no favors.

I think his chances of success at Nebraska aren't real great.

Perfect outcome would be Frost going Coyote Ugly by slashing at least half that buyout to save his future and leave Lincoln as scorched Earth scaring off any decent replacement.

I'm okay with this scenario.

I don’t understand why someone would even write this story. Is anyone within the AD thinking about firing him? I’d guess no. He’s got at least 3 years to show a little progress.

I don’t understand the media’s hard on for Nebraska. They haven’t been relevant for 15 years.
Gameday had a segment with Frost yesterday too.
Hey - how about you drive 3 hours east and talk to a real coach and a program on the rise.

I cant believe this is even a story right now.
I don't think Big Red could ever admit that Golden Boy Scotty Frost wasnt the messiah

I love it....it is odd why this is a USA Story though. Steve Berkowitz has an axe to grind with someone at Nebraska who said he was a poo poo head back when he was on the year book staff in high school??
It's almost like every other front page story on USAToday every single day of every single year...they have an agenda.

I doubt they'd chase him out. Look at this quote from the article:

Nebraska is still paying both of Frost’s predecessors, Bo Pelini and Mike Riley.

Are budgets good enough to have 4 coaches on the payroll? Not a great use of public resources (Note: I don't know how soon Pelini and Riley would be done with their payments)
