I am looking for a group activity I can take my team from work to in the metro. I have a team of 7 staff, plus myself and a peer. My team has done a great job for me over the last 18 months, including traveling the state for weeks at a time. I want to reward them with a fun experience.

I've set a budget of around $500 for this.

We have done bowling as a team and may do it again if I don't find a better option.

Ideas tossed out are:

- Lazer tag (only fun for so long though)
- Go carts (same as above)
- Paintball (not all on my team would enjoy this)

I'm not opposed to traveling up to an hr or two if needed.

Looking forward to your recommendations.

Are you looking for weekday, evening, weekend? How much time to you have?

An afternoon, weekday I-Cub's game is always fun....especially if you get a skybox. Can mix in tailgating if you've got a big window of time and/or post game on patio at some place like El Bait Shop or Mickey's.

Bud club at Icubs game. $50/ticket all you can eat/drink.
A suite I think is $450 but you end up spending a bunch in food/drink. Just went there for my brother's bachelor party saturday and had a blast.

Like someone mentioned, Prairie Meadows is a lot of fun. For anyone who doesn't want to watch the horses there is plenty of other ways to spend the money.

Golfing? Lake Panorama has things to do. Honey Creek is good and there is plenty to do down there for a day. Amana for a day as well and there is golf. Houses to stay in if you are looking at something like that.

Rent that big yellow bike that goes around between bars downtown. I bet if can fit 12 or 14? Everyone pedals and a driver does the driving. You're "not allowed" to bring booze on to the actual bike, but the driver doesn't ask questions about gatorade or other bottles filled with liquid.

Golden Circle Games sounds like something from a fetish porn.

nah, that's totally innocuous. And don't mind the mustachioed gentleman in the corner. He's got a medical condition that requires him to keep his shirt off...and breathe really heavily...and...umm...gyrate like that....

This would be a weekday event.

Considered ICubs and it's not off the table. We did take the team to a Chicago Cubs game last summer when we were working in QC.

Is your group from out-of-state? Can you wait a couple months? You could have a pretty good time at the State Fair with $500.
