So I was diagnosed with a hyperactive gallbladder, not dangerous, but it does give me GI distress/abdominal discomfort.

And....................I have the option to get it surgically removed or just deal with it.

Has anyone done this or knows someone close to you that's been through the Gallbladder removal procedure?

Trying to debate if I get it yanked out or not. It's not intense pain like people with gallbladder attacks, just a dull ache.

No, and I'm not that kind of doctor, but I'm willing to give it a shot for you.

I had mine out about 6 years ago. A bit sore for a few days after. And for the first few weeks I would have unpredictable and extreme bouts of diarrhea. But that slowly went away and was soon not an issue.

Just hope there aren’t any long lines for the bathroom at the football stadium for a game or two after but other than that it’s no big deal.

Had mine out about 10 years ago. I had been having gall bladder attacks randomly for a year prior, just didnt know what it was. I had emergency arthroscopic surgery a day after Memorial Day and apparently it had gone gangrenous. I was up and out in a couple days and slowish for a few weeks. For awhile you could set a watch to make sure you were near a bathroom after comnsuming something mildly greasy (brats, fast food, etc...). Seems like my digestive system has compensated somewhat, and my diet has changed as i have gotten older, so those issues are minimal. Good Luck!
