Man... Leave the starters in... It's a win at home... Hasn't happened much. They need to soak this in.

I'll pile on and agree... I don't think we would of gave him one if we didn't have everyone leave after each season. Wow... Thinking about it... Is he the longest tenure Cyclone right now???

Based on the way Thompson is playing on the floor, you guys definitely have a reasonable point.

However, do you remember Thompson in high school and at Iowa? He was a top 100 recruit, and was the sixth man for the Hawks' NCAA Tourney #3 seed team when he was a Sophomore. I've never seen a someone's confidence shaken as much as his. He now scores less, and plays less for a much worse basketball team than that Hawk team. McDermott's controlling nature has affected his ability to play. It's sad to watch.

I remember Alex playing pick-up his senior year in high school against Homan at ISU. He was doing reverse dunks, turn-around jumpers, pull-up jumpers and a bevy of fantastic moves to pretty much run circles around Jared. Plus, if you ever watched him play for Martin Bros. AAU (the best AAU team in Iowa) you'll remember how fantastic he played. He was a solid recruit. I know this might be hard to believe, but I have no reason to make it up.

Regardless, I agree with you; he doesn't look good out there, but I wouldn't go as far as saying he's a "wasted scholarship." That's harsh.

GMac ruined AT, but has allowed CB to blossom?

Good game. Makes me feel better after seeing the KSU game on Saturday. Hopefully a good finish to the season is ahead of us... a step forward.

How has GMac ruined AT? I'm no fan of what AT brings, but he hasn't gotten worse. I wouldn't put much stock in how good he looked in a pick-up game in high school. How seriously do you think Homan took a pick-up game against some high school punk at that time in his college career? He would have owned AT had they played against each other in a meaningful game.
