Super Mario Brothers - rescuing the princess over and over only to find out it wasn't her and the real princess was in another castle. Also, finishing the game with Luigi only to realize that he would not be getting any piece of that action. Sad.

Yeah, this is me after pretty much any Zelda game. Wait, Link went to all that work for a platonic friend?
Yep, you can't go back to how it felt just entering that world. I migrated to WoW from Shadowbane with a PvP crew that had been together for a few years. Discovering a new world with those people was so much fun.The feelings I had playing WoW Classic with my best friends back in 2004/2005 I don't think I'll ever have again.

DO NOT read into it. Just set aside 3 hours and dive in. It's free on Steam. It's manga like and you might feel weird playing it but 100k+ Reviews rate it 10/10 so I am not joshing you. Lots of reading but well well worth it. Plus it's a choose your adventure type game so there are some different endings which makes it replayable
I got the worst ending in Witcher 3, and for maybe my favorite game of all time it was as attached as I’ve been to characters so it hit pretty hard. I thought about my bad decisions and the results for days. It’s the only game that made me consider my actions outside the game.
Journey really hit me hard - especially considering it doesn't take a huge investment of time/energy/thought to play. Finished it and sat in a dark room for like an hour pondering life.
This War of Mine is supposed to be that way. I started playing it, but it was too damned dreary. Should have listened to the reviews lol.
