I spoke to an NBA scout the other night and I asked him if there is anybody he thinks will go to the NBA this year from ISU. He told me he didn't think there would be anybody this year, but of course that can all change.

And as far as the Nerlens Noel comments I think we need to flip flop it and let people know Noel played with Niang and that's how Noel got so good.

They were sure fun to watch last night! Lets enjoy the ride!

If Niang keeps improving more people will know his name next year than know what team Nerlens Noel plays for. More basketball fans knew who Doug McDermott and Cleanthony Early were last year than knew average injury prone players on horrible NBA teams.

The only two guys going to th NBA next year from the game last night are BDJ (maybe) and Bobby Portis (definitely).

BDJ is only a maybe? What I saw out of him last night, and what we've seen every night except Maryland says he's a definitely. Unless there's a specific knock on him you'd care to lay (like Kane's "too old")?

If BDJ can't play in the NBA, then I don't know who can.

You mean the game where everyone but him and edozie played like dirt?

I think BDJ is NBA material, those were some deep 3s he was drilling last night. JMO.

He's got great size and outstanding athleticism for a shooting guard. If he can maintain the improved numbers this year, he'll get drafted. Based on his UNLV numbers, he would have never been drafted (or even noticed in any of their 2 nationally televised games).

Just to clarify here, "Niasmith" was a trolling nickname from the Arkansas boards leading up to this game when they were attempting to mock ISU for talking up such a mediocre player. After all, Niang was a "third option" at best for ISU.

I know I am looking forward to an exciting ISU hoops season featuring such stars as
Fish Grease Niasmith
Pirahna Hogue
Juwanna Mann (for those at the dunk contest) McKat
Bodylanguage Dejean-Heroball
Coach Frank Hoiberg

Niang maybe, but with his character I see him sticking around and becoming the greatest Cyclone of all time...no way Morris is going anywhere next season. BDJ is soooooo NBA ready$$$. Love his game and team attitude. The BDJ/Vaughn deal with UNLV has turned out awesome!!

By the way...Vaughn was laying on the floor injured the other night with back spasms as they lost to Arizona State 77-55.While I never want to see anyone injured, I couldn't help but think that having all that extra money now probably makes the pain easier to deal with.

Niang isn't the same kind of player as Ejim, but he is in a similar situation where they're too small for a 4 in the NBA and not quick enough to be a 3 either. The best thing Niang can do is stay in school another year and work on getting himself into NBA-ready shape. Morris is in no way, shape, or form an NBA draft pick yet. He's still a twig and his shot isn't good enough. He's going to be here at least one more year after this one.

Some groundbreaking new information for you: Georges Niang was teammates in high school with Nerlens Noel. I was just as shocked as everyone else last night to hear this for the first time ever.

About as skinny as Stephan Curry.

Do handlers get paid if their player is injured?

Not arguing with that. Just saying that calling a guy low character because he makes a decision that he thinks is the best way to advance his career - just because he's leaving your favorite college team - seems pretty dumb IMO.
Who said anything about low character if he decides to go. I'd be very happy for him if he left, became successful, and made millions. The part of his character I'm talking about is his commitment and dedication. I'd never use low character to describe Niang in anyway. Also pretty dumb to put words into someone's mouth that were never stated..IMO

Don't put me on blast because you didn't read the thread

Add me to the we'll have Niang next year bandwagon. He has too much character to leave.

There are other routes to living a dream...stick around 4 years, get your degree, become an icon, and return some day to run the show for ISU. I would love to see Niang take over the helm in 20 years when Fred decides to retire.

I...... I don't even know where to start.
