Does anyone know where these can be taken? can i use big item tags and have the garbage man haul them away? Does Best Buy still take them?

thanks!

I think Best Buy takes smaller tube TVs, I don't know what the cutoff is, maybe 27" or around there.

I had two of them that probably weighed 200 lbs each and no truck to take them anywhere. Listed them on Craiglist for free and some dude showed up and hauled them off. IIRC he strips them for parts.

The landfill here in Linn County takes them for free. Yours might also, I'd check it out.

Go figure...Johnson county charges for something Linn Co does for free:

Fee Schedule:
  • $10 - each computer system or TV with 18" screen or smaller.
  • $15 - each computer system or TV with larger than 18" screen
  • $.25/lb. - bulk electronic waste
  • $2 per item: Miscellaneous electronic items such as printers, CPUs, VCRs, that don't have a CRT screen/monitor.
  • $2 per item: other small appliances such as vacuum cleaners, alarm clocks, toasters, blenders, etc.

Goodwill and Habitat for Humanity will take them as a donation around these parts.

An old tube set goes for $10 at Goodwill. Any size out the door for a Hamilton

Just leave it on Welch St. Someone will bust out the screen after the party for yucks. Then it can be written up by the police.
