I love this team, love what Freddie is doing, love the effort but we just simply choked and to me a loss like this is unacceptable. DG consistently crumbles under the pressure, we gotta learn how to finish a solid win before we can even think about making the tournament like some people have already dreamt about. We could easily be a 1 loss team right now. With that said Go Cyclones and blast away if I've offended anyone.

Apparently you watched another game. DG was the best player on the floor last night...again.

Every missed shot or free throw during regulation was the reason we lost.

I really love the way this team comes out after halftime. It seems like they analyze what changes need to be made and execute them. Very refreshing change from last year.

Can't really blame any one player for last night's loss. Everyone had their moments, but for the most part everyone played a good game. We just couldn't keep it up for 40 minutes (that's what she said).

Were we in a zone D during the last possession when Page hit that ******* three? I was wondering why Ejim was on him and not Jake or Diante, since he is there best pure shooter.

JVB secures that rebound, we win.
Ejim doesnt throw the ball to the other team at midcourt while they were pressing, we win.
Ejim makes 1 of his 3 bunnies he missed, we win.
We box out on their free throws not allowing them to miss and get the rebound and score two points, we win.
Ejim steps out and takes away the three from Page, we win.
Anderson doesnt fall over and turn the ball over, we win.

These plays all happened in the last 3 minutes. Imagine if ONE of them went OUR way. It would have been a totally different game.

Yes, from a macro level nobody should be disappointed in where we are. Hoiberg seems to be doing the right things and for most of any given game it is working. However, regardless of any of the number of excuses that are being offered, when you have the game in hand, not within reach but in hand, you have to find a way to keep it. This one stings. I am confident that CFH will get them better prepared next time. Its only going to get tougher though and the number of minutes will start to wear on guys, making wins tougher and tougher to come by.

Besides that we werent ready for the press. Lack of preparation=Coaching staffs fault. Not blaming the game on them but it was a huge blow to us. I think Freddy would be the first one to tell you this too.
Expect more douible teaming of DG to force the ball out of his hands. SC needs to get moire point guard skills to help out even if he cannot shoot. JVB really needs to use his frame to shield defenders from reaching in. Jake waited too long to try to help out more - overtime he was a terror.

Why cannot we draw more shooting fouls at the end of the game? We do not lurch into them enough?

Paige won the game for them. It should not have happened.

I'd like to see Jake and Scottie on either side as options to drive and take advantage of the double on DG. I have no doubt that the staff will find ways to make teams pay for this strategy.

I think they did for a bit there, as both Scott and DG got free for back door layups. Probably just need a little more practice in breaking that down.

I understand I'm not the coach, but Freds use of timeouts this year has bothered me, but no more than in this game.

I agree with loving this team and what "Coach Fred" is doing. I'm sure that they are heartbroken (and exhausted) enough that you finding this loss unacceptable just about pushes them over the top.:skeptical:

I fully expected at half time that it was going to be a long second half. The officials had called a lot of fouls on Okie State in the first half and Ford had been working them over pretty hard. I thought, consciously or not, they would be on a mission to even it out in the second half. They did, but not even as much as I expected. When OSU started fouling to stop the clock they only had 4 fouls. I frankly expected it would be much worse in the second half.

Wow. What a bad post. DG played every minute and made huge shot after huge shot. What about JVB stepping on the out of bounds line after the rebound? There are tons of what ifs in that game.

Nothing good happens when JVB puts the ball on the ground! That was costly! But at the buzzer you should be able to count on your senior and team leader at point gaurd to be able to get us a last second shot to win the game and for the 2nd time DG has been unable to do just that.

I get your point, but you can't really expect that a team is going to shoot better than 18 of 20 (90%) from the line. Misses are going to occasionally happen to even the best FT shooters. Any one player who shoots that average is going to lead the league.

You mean, like how we finished out a solid win against Baylor?

All you complainers, please refrain from becoming husker fans... This team has exceeded my expectations by the 14th game. The way they are working together is more exciting to watch then any season the last 4 years even if they are less talented overall.

Going to be 100% honest.....................four years ago if anything went south, it was laid entirely and completely at the feet of the previous coach. And the words "trust"....."patience"....."integrity" were envoked right ahead of "building it the right way". So what gives? Fred is an Iowa boy. He is loaded with intregrity. He was dealt a bad hand. Hmmmmmm......? Oh I forgot..........GMAC isn't selling satellite dishes.

Definitely can't lay this at any one person's feet. We, as a team, just haven't figured out how to win. There are a dozen little breaks that could have gone our way and won us the game last night, but until we figure out how to make our own luck, we will likely continue to be disappointed. I will say that I thought the charging call, and particularly, palming call on DG were suspect at best. If you're not going to call that kind of stuff in the first 38 minutes, you better not start calling it at crunch time. I will say that I hope we get away from the 1-4 flat set as our ONLY option in crunch time. It works some of the time, but if we're going to take air out of the ball, I'd at least like to see us mix in a weave or a 4 corners set to give the other team a different look. The 1-4 set seems to be pretty well scouted and if DG is forced to his left or hit with a strong double team, the odds of success seem to decrease a lot.

We lost and it hurt me more than most of the losses in recent memory. I couldn't get to sleep afterward because of a combination of being amped up and ****** off. I can't imagine what last night must have been like for Fred and the rest of the guys. It was a great opportunity lost, but it was the epitome of a TEAM loss. I can't imagine how we'll beat Mizzou on Saturday, but it is nice to know that we will at least show up and compete.

Really thought it was a great effort by the guys minus keeping OSU off the offensive boards.

Should have had it, but understanding where we've been, I am very happy to be in a position to win these games now.
