New big 12 commissioner is thinking outside the box. Thank goodness we got this guy. Reminds me of when we got rid of Bruce and hired Jamie Pollard. Crap has changed for the better since then. Just new thinking
Thinking outside the box is USC AD hiring Riley from OU and not just talking about it.

Ok. The top 8 in the ACC had .500 or better records last year.
But because of analytical sites such as Ken Pom and the new quad systems they’re able to sniff out the mediocre teams with solid records.

The ACC was not good last year in basketball.

I have it on good authority what Creighton NIL is. I mean, as good of authority as it gets.
We are way behind them.
There is a LOT of money in Omaha and a lot of people with that money have ties to Creighton. CU basketball is king of the univ and they don't have to worry about competing with football.

Not interested in Gonzaga. Big12 is tough enough as it is.

This is a great move, such outside the box thinking.

I don't think KU would ever let Wichita State join. They won't even schedule them.

I would not like it greatly, but I could stand Creighton. As others noted, Omaha is a growing market. Villanova would be the brass ring.

My only point is that we can still compete. Probably going to be an imbalanced schedule so plenty of chances to play elite teams and plenty of chances to get some wins.

I wouldn't want to make a habit of non-full members, but Gonzaga makes sense to me.

They are leaving the WCC, so would you rather have them in your conference or let someone else benefit from them?

If it's only Gonzaga could be similar to how the ACC deals with Notre Dame. I don't want an all-basketball pod though.

Also, Spokane is a bigger tv market than one might think, it's bigger than DSM/Ames market. And Gonzaga has been successful the entire lifetime of current recruits. They may not have a deep history, but they've got enough of one for 17-18 year old's.

First Colorado State, then the San Diego State obsession, now we are going to try to turd polish Omaha as a growing, valuable market? Good lord.

Gonzaga doesn't do anything for me. I'm still in the camp of we either add a current P5 school or we stay put. Of our 12 future members we already have Houston, Cincy, BYU, TCU, and UCF as promoted G5 schools. WVU gets in by a thread as a Big East rescue. The optics of a league where a big chunk of your teams were mid majors 15 years ago doesn't project strength. We already struggle with getting national media to respect the quality of what we put on the field, on the court, and in the stands. We don't need to help make it even easier to look down on us.

Oh sorry I didn’t understand your point at first. Yes we will still be able to compete.

If they wanted to add two bball only schools, could look at Nova, Creighton, Wichita State?
Nova is the only national brand that would get ESPN and Fox's attention.

Anyone else concerned that adding Gonzaga and pushing west could move the Conference Tournament away from Kansas City?

I’m much more concerned Yormark would move the tourney south or East verses west
