He is going nowhere. I have no fear about that.

He won't leave if we can match other salary offers, but we'd be kidding ourselves if we though he wouldn't jump if another school was offering to double or triple his salary. I do think that he'd give ISU the chance to counteroffer, but he's a smart guy, and smart guys don't leave millions of dollars on the table.

This article lost me when it called Chizik vibrant.

I gave it a second chance and it lost me again when it said Baylor was bigger and better things.

I don't think he will even think about leaving until we are big XII champions, no matter how much money other schools offer.

We may not be able to match, but if we can keep ours respectable comparatively, we may still be able to hold on to him. Rhoads could coach here for a long, long time at the pay level we could provide, at a stress level much lower than at other schools, where a down year or two could instantly have him on the hot seat and lose him that hefty paycheck.

Definitely wouldnt surprise me to see his name come up on most wanted lists though. Compounding it is the fact that the last guy here went 5-19 and is now at the top of the polls at his next gig. Someone may think 'if a 5-19 guy can do that, what can a guy who went to a bowl (or two) there do?

I dont know man, some people value roots. ISU will take good care of him and his family as long as hes successfull here. There is something to creating a program of your own and sustaining it.

We dont have to worry about him leaving at all. When my friends attended an ISU camp, he told them "this is my dream job and I would rather be here than USC."

I don't disagree, which is why I am sure Rhoads will stay here if all else is equal (i.e. he isn't gonna bolt just because a high profile job opens up if the money is comparable). But ISU needs to be able to keep his pay competitive, and make sure he has money for quality assistants.

If somebody offers to double his salary, and ISU can't at least put together a comparable counteroffer, Rhoads will be gone. But like I said, I believe he would give Pollard the chance to counteroffer.

He will jump at the right offer especially if we don't provide a good counteroffer...and let's face it we can't provide a good counteroffer like the big boys can.
