Any runners here doing Grandma's Marathon in June? Registration opened @ Midnight... This is their first year of on-line registration and you're supposed to get an email confirmation but I didn't get one so I thought I'd see if anyone else out there registered.

I am sure I will do it some year, but I think I am going to take this year off and not run a marathon. I really enjoy halfs anymore, not much training and it is easy.

The farthest run for me has been the Dam to Dam 20K. Four years in a row, soon to be five. I've always thought about running a marathon, but after thinking about how much time it takes to train for the Dam to Dam, I just don't know if I have it in me.

it is a fun race - tho the weather tends to be either hot or rainy (or at least it turned out that way for me). Lots of people there, plenty of water/gatorade stations.

Stick with the Dam to Dam type distance. I used to run those all the time and they were pretty easy. I ran one marathon and it completely burned me out. I can always say that I did a marathon but it's a big time commitment.
