Yes. Worried about that door ding? Park at the far end of the lot....or take the bus. I had a guy follow me and my 9 month preggo wife into Home Depot wanting to fight simply because I parked next to his nice car....he was ****** because the lot was empty and I chose to park next to him. Didn't matter that I just wanted the closest spot for my waddling wife....this parking nazi was a total *******.

Only thing the jeep driver did wrong there is he didn't park close enough to the vette. You gotta get like 3 inches away when doing that, so they can't get in.

Yeah, if you're not so close that they have to go in through the passenger door then you're not close enough.

The worst are the old folks in their 1993 2-door GM or Ford, and the door weights 150 lbs, and they just kick it open next to your car, with absolutely no clue or regard how close they're parked to you....

100% correct but its an Olds Cutlass Supreme. Even after they swing the anchor open and hit you, they still don't even know.

Good plan, but what about the pick-up truck that's parking right in front of the entrance to the local grocery store, leaving the motor running?

Is it theft if I get in and move the truck to the other end of the lot?

Can I claim "valet parking" as a defense?

Shame on people parking in public parking lots wherever they wish.

Congrats. This smartass comment always makes it in the discussion.
I don't mind when a nice car parks next to me. I know they are doing it for the same reason. Its the crappy cars that's the problem. Beaters don't turn into beaters by parking in the back all the time. They are doing it to be a jack ***.

I typically park in the back to get a little exercise. Plus, my car doesn't like to be by itself when I'm gone, particularly during thunderstorms.

I was visiting my mother at the UIHC last weekend and was parked in the parking ramp. Absolute nightmare. 2 way traffic and all the parking spots are narrow so it's hard to get in and out. When I got to my car that evening some raging *** hole keyed my car.

He should have parallel parked behind the vette.

I have an appreciation for nice cars, but I'll never own one. I feel sorry for the people whose day gets ruined by a door ding or a rock chip.

Did you have ISU plates? I purposefully did not get ISU plates when i was in law school at U of I as I knew my car would get keyed.

I have never done what this asshat corvette driver did, but I alway park way out in the lot, even back when I had my 12 year old truck. About once every 5 or so trips to the store though, I'd come out and find some ******* parked right next to me, with open spots about every where else. Hell, when I go workout in the morning, I have been the only car in the lot, still parked at the farthest end from the door, to look out the window and find the second car in the lot is parked right next to me.

I never cross lines, always park in a spot, but I still think some people are dicks enough to see your car and say, "I'm gonna show this ****** with a nice car who's boss." Either that or their feeble minds can't stand not parking next to another car out of some primal instinct.

Believe me, I think this vette driver is king ******, but in the back of my head, I can't help but think, "I probably know why he parks like that."

In the end though, if you are really that worried about door dings, you shouldn't be buying that kind of car.
