I need some help with DVD burning. My wife created some home movies-slide shows with Windows Movie Maker and wants them burned on a dvd to play on the dvd player connected to the TV and not just on the computer, especially so she can give them to computer illiterate family members.

So anyway we buy the dvd burner 2-3 months ago. She was successful one time using Nero software to do what she wanted to do, and the dvd played correctly. Now the Nero software is saying the trial is over - please pay us money. Now I can't burn.

I downloaded Imgburn software and can get the dvd burned, but now it won't play on the dvd player. Why isn't this working, do I need some type of converting software? Any suggestions would be great! Thanks.

Well I think it needs to encode the file and convert it, so imageburn wont do that. You may just want to buy the Nero software, its good stuff anyway. Im sure there are some free apps available, but Nero makes it easy.

Last time I check, Movie Maker allows you to burn directly to a disc. Check into that since that is the program she created them with.
