Hilton Coliseum Lighting Upgrades

Looks like Hilton may be getting LED lighting installed for the upcoming season. Project is only in the design stage now, so take it for what its worth. Could widen the opportunities for pregame atmosphere improvements that some posters here have talked about in the past.

Hmm, that's less than the number I've heard for years that it would take. Mostly because I was told they couldn't just replace the lights, without making some other structural updates as well.

I imagine it's a minimal update just to get up to whatever level NCAA/ESPN deem necessary for broadcasting games.

Hilton has held up extremely well. Compare and contrast to the hole in the ground that is Carver Hawkeye Arena (which is a few years younger, I think).

We've been lucky that they've done updates to Hilton, but the design is certainly one that has stood the test of time.

That's the most fans GIA had in the arena all season before OSU spiraled to nothing that year.

Let's start with getting rid of Jock Jams first- music selection is worse than the lighting.

They currently do better with Hilton lighting for gymnastics introductions than basketball!

Probably can do more with gymnastics as they dont need to have the lighting in the building be national network tv-ready immediately after
