Sure as crap doesn't help.

Go to a few other venues and you are blown away. Yeah it comes down to basketball and coaches etc..
But why not fix something so simple? I think more than anything its just embarrassing.

What if Jock Jams is Fred's favorite music in the world, are you really going to question Fred?

The player intro at Kentucky was pretty impressive. Lights off(Still think they need to make this happen, I don't care what they have to replace) and fireworks.

Fireworks would be hard to pull off in Hilton. To small of an arena to have the smoke clear out i think. Also, ALL of the lights would need to be replaced and spotlights would need to be installed since they probably couldn't use the portable ones since they use those areas for TV cameras and whatnot.

Pull the plug on South end zone and divert funds to improve Hilton in anyway necessary.

new subs in the NW corner, playing with new equalizer settings

How do you know this?

Also, it seemed like there was a lot of different music last night . . . not the usual Jock Jams stuff. Am I correct?

I completely agree. The music last night was on point! A lot of EDM stuff. Jay William tweeted that Hilton reminded him of a Vegas Nightclub. Adds so much more to the atmosphere than Jock Jams. Great for recruiting.

I noticed the difference in music last night, too. Any ideas of which songs were used? There was one in particular that sampled Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye that I'm trying to figure out...

The only time jock jams is really played is during starting lineups and they still played it then

Who's the best dancer on our team?

If we're going to go with old school songs (like Jock Jams), why not just go with Jump Around instead. I know it's old and dated, but it does get the crowd going, especially when one of your players dances to it like in this video.

I think you're right. I don't think I remember hearing it the last football game but anyway here is youtube link. I think they started playing it when it the bass drops at around 50seconds.

I noticed this one last night. When the bass kicks in, it was like "whoa, where did that come from"? I didn't realize Hilton had that type of equipment.

Thanks A-town for bringing this up (and I know you are being sarcastic)

Why is it that everyone with a brain knows this isn't cool?
They play every other song that is new or good, but they use this for years?

My High School played this 1 game for the lineups in 2008 and it got scratched from the playlist because everyone thought it was stupid, not original...etc
Matter of fact. There is not one Jock Jam song on our Playlist. Not one.

I realize you can't please everyone, but using the most overplayed starting lineup song in the past 20 years is not tradition.

All it does is hurt recruiting.

end of vent.

Went to a HS game last week. I didn't recognize any of the music played, but this is a GOOD thing. The student sections seemed to respond well and really, the students drive the atmosphere so why not cater to their craziness with music they will bump to? Seems like a smart idea.

It's not the only factor, obviously. But when a prospect is visiting and hears the same crap played at the other 3+ schools he has visited, it does nothing positive for us. A ruckus environment is what sells and music selection can impact that environment either positively or negatively.

HS is saying lets do a better job being with the times and using music 18-19 year olds will recognize and be down with.
