Okay, I'm gonna say it. If the surgeon is a Gopher or Hawkeye, I say we have an ISU vet grad go up and do it. We can't gamble at this point. With the strides Freddie is blowing past those too, you can't put anything past them.

If he's a surgeon at the Mayo Clinic, you can immediately rule him out as a Hawkeye.

I think I read somewhere that the batteries only last for 5-10 years, so he would probably need to have an operation to get them replaced in the near future anyway.

This is me being REAL dumb, but I assume with each new one the battery life gets better and better (think batteries of today vs when you were a kid).....wonder if they will ever get to the point it could charge like those proximity chargers that cellphones use now.

Obviously, never want to mess with the batteries of the thing that keeps the ticker going.

What I find fascinating is the way that the data is downloaded from them. My father calls someplace in California (he's in Arizona) every couple of months and holds the phone to his chest.

I'm assuming he will eventually have something glowing from his chest like Iron Man.

I get what youre laying down.. When I went in for emergency surgery at Iowa City I was wearing an Iowa State sweatshirt followed by an ISU tee.. as I'm getting an IV stuck in me to get put under they ask me "So when did you graduate? Me-oh about a month ago from ISU! Docs/Surgs- Don't trust them vets up there? Me-Yep but just my luck they were all full! Whole Room- Bust out laughing well guess 2nd best will have to do sorry about beating you this past saturday (4 days after they got us in Ames)" So to this day UI grads (4/5 of my surgeons graduated from there) in the med field have my tip of the hat.

@franfraschilla: Thinking of the @ISUMayor32 as he heads to Mayo Clinic tomorrow. Guarantee right out of surgery, he could make 50 free throws in a row.
