I apparently didn’t pay attention when looking at the schedule but now I’m mad too. ESPN+ is a good move as a replacement to Cyclones.tv but that’s what it was sold as a replacement of our 3rd tier rights. Putting conference games on there especially this year when we are stuck with both is BS.
Yeah. That is where it went wrong. It was ok if it was just the games that are usually on cyclone tv but the direction it went is the major b12 conference games are on ESPN+ now. As mentioned above about internet connectivity. There are A LOT of farmers and other isu fans in small communities that do not have the best internet options or even a way to get internet that will suppourt streaming that well. Unless these people want to drive who knows how far to the nearest large town or city to watch it at a bar or friends then they wont have the option to watch these games. IT IS an issue

I agree. I was just pointing out to the OP that even though most ISU MBB games were on ABC, it was pretty much just central Iowa.

Hey, I am lazy and would love to just let my Cyclone.TV membership auto renew and not have to do anything, but now I have to decide if I will renew for things like VB, wrestling, WBB and even an occasional soccer game and add ESPN+ or just cancel Cyclone.TV altogether.

all that other stuff you mentioned will be on espn+ next year
so its only this year you need to worry about
this espn+ is going to be like the big12 network + MLS + Les Miles + a bunch of other crap you probably wont watch

I tend to agree with this statement.......

Maybe CycloneFanatic should put their forums behind a paywall........

That's a big part of how CF became bigger in the first place, when rivals shut off its public board.

I for one loved having all our games on Versus and Fox Sports Midwest, simply for the terrible commercials

Even that was light years ahead of life in the 90's where you had to listen on the radio or wait until our score came around on ESPN's bottom line to find out the how we were doing.

stuff and let us have free stuff. KU vs ISU basketball on ESPN plus is my last straw. I won’t be nearly as invested in college sports if they keep raising ticket prices and making us pay to watch the Clones. Not worth it. I’ll find other things to do. I know some will blast me but there is to
Much free stuff to do. I know it’s all about money now but
Man I miss the old days.

Plus ISU vs KU deserves big
Monday or at least on ESPN.

Let me be the first person to welcome you to the 21st century

I used to be in that boat. But, there seem to be better options these days with over the air internet vs DSL via the phone line. My internet is still not as good as those people in town, but I can stream Netflix and Amazon, so I'm guessing ESPN+ won't be an issue.

I saw where they are bundling ESPN+ with Hulu and Disney for like $13 a month. That's not a bad deal. You get a bunch of ISU games plus all the Marvel and Star Wars stuff.

I feel like we're getting closer to a la carte and pretty much everything is going to be streaming vs cable and satellite in 10 years.

Way up there
I really actually like the ESPN+ shift but I live in the boonies and can only have satellite internet. The couple of games that were on cyclone tv killed my data plan, I'm going to be really going through it with ESPN+. At the very least, this is an upgrade over the ctv stuff. I swear if I have to hear that ******* Lady Gaga Bud Light commercial one more time....

If people are pissed about this why till the next round of rights deals when the B12 is the first to go all streaming. No games on ESPN/Fox except maybe one or two a week. This is the future, the B12 is on this train first from a P5 conference perspective. Enjoy the ride.

its a tough balance for families for what you pay for and what you dont
it will end up being more expensive that traditional tv in the end for families; not for single folks; but the content quality is a huge step up
and i can put netflix on for the kids; control the content from my phone and know they are not getting indoctrinated against my approval

the last few weekends though i have just been popping on fox or abc on saturdays with my dinky little tv antenna taped to the wall with painters tape only because its easier than doing all the chromecast dance with the apps etc.
of course ill pop on the cyclones
but if not the cyclones i find myself taking the lazy approach to watching football

If you guys want to be at the same level as the MVC and other small conferences then ok. ESPN+ is where the MVC plays their games that are not on Fox Sports. B10, SEC, ACC all are on espn where most people can watch them with out needing to stream through their internet.

wow scary new world really
best to be on espn+ in that world because you get the most eyes
btn will be relegated to btn fans only
espn+ will be a smorgasbord of crap from every spectrum of the sports universe
do you really think we will have less games though than the past on the espn networks?
im assuming they were showing isu on espn2 etc all the time because there was nothing else better

Fox College Sports had some pretty sweet games for a couple years. Announce teams were A+ and SD only in the late 2000’s was a pretty neat vintage touch.

If that’s what you want to believe then fine but this is the new model. It provides more revenue directly to ESPN.
