Ollie's probably wishing he'd taken one of those NBA jobs right about now. He rode Napier's hot streak in 2014 and they really haven't done anything since.

Iowa
I'll be honest, if we could win a NC this year, I'd be cool with becoming a bottom feeder.

Ollie comes off as off the charts arrogant every time he talks. Maybe this will take it down a notch.

The State of Hockey
As a kid I was a UConn fan and I always like following them until I got to Iowa State. I went over to the UConn boards to see how they feel about ollie.

They want to get rid of him but because he is such a great recruiter they are worried if he leaves so do the players and recruits. They feel like they might not be a national power anymore and drift back to being a region power because they aren't in a high major conference. Lots of doom and gloom on their boards. I still consider UConn to be the best non high major job.

Makes you appreciate or sustained success recently even more
It definitely shows you how quickly success can be forgotten. This was always my point when people talk about losing coaches at ISU as if a short period of winning carries momentum for years. It's just not the case. North Carolina under Daugherty sucked. Kentucky sucked with Gillespie. Alabama, Oklahoma and Michigan football were not good under Shula, Blake and RichRod. Even the ultimate blue bloods will go downhill with the wrong coach. UConn fan is right to be worried. Keeping him as a recruiter seems dumb. Sorry, but if you lose those two games consecutively you don't have great talent.
