You reminded me of something from a few years ago. When our youngest was at ISU he spent a year on the Cy Squad. So I went to the copy store in Campus town with a design for a gold button that said Cy's Dad in cardinal s c r i p t on it (about the size of the buttons the family members of the teams sometimes wear with their kid's picture on it). It was going to be a birthday gift along with the ISU jacket I bought him. The copy store told me I had to get special permission from ISU marketing or licensing or something before they could print it up for me. I sent an email to the office I was told to contact, with the design and the reason behind the request. I received a refusal in response. Their reason was that it might confuse small children who "believe Cy is real". So, if a child is old enough to read longhand on the button (which had no picture or logo, just the two words)...isn't it possible that they no longer believe Cy is real?
Sheesh!
