You first since you had the idea of bringing back baseball.
I'll piggy back my idea after he shuts down football next week.
Okay, sounds good.

An Alamo bowl against whoever wins whatever the PAC12 is now is likely. Colorado is eligible for that spot still, as weird as that is, because of how that contract was written.I’m looking at this as we struck lightening in a bottle with that 7-0 start.
Teams have now caught on to what we’re doing, especially offensively. We were cooked against UCF but they pissed it down their leg.
Easily could be 6-3 right now on a 3 game slide. Luckily we’re not.
Something has to change with the defense, too. That was an awful showing by the secondary. At least Freyler owned up to it.
It’s really too bad, but the way we had been playing, we don’t deserve to have a shot at the CCG or even the playoff. Imagine this team playing a Tennessee or Alabama… lol.
Agree. (Btw...it's lightning, not lightening.)I’m looking at this as we struck lightening in a bottle with that 7-0 start.

If we win out and the Buffs go 2-1. Who wins tiebreaker?
You mean the same Alabama that struggled at home against South Carolina, South Florida and lost to Vandy? And not a fluke loss, like Vandy was simply better on that day?I’m looking at this as we struck lightening in a bottle with that 7-0 start.

He might have been referring to the light schedule we played against?Agree. (Btw...it's lightning, not lightening.)
I'd put Ohio State in the mix. Their defense is impressive. But nearly every team you mentioned on the above matchups would eat our lunch including Vandy. They've been the Cinderella of this season. You mean the same Alabama that struggled at home against South Carolina, South Florida and lost to Vandy? And not a fluke loss, like Vandy was simply better on that day?
Or Tennessee which looked like dog crap against Arkansas, and has not looked super impressive?
Most years, I'd 100% agree with you. This year, there is ONE, and only one, great team and that's Oregon. Everyone else is incredibly...
Meh.
That's part of what makes this hurt a little. Because Bama's down, Georgia's down, Ohio State is super talented but looks more or less disinterested, etc... maybe they are all just waiting until playoff time to show up, IDK.
But there is no "dominant" team outside of Oregon. As of 11/10.
There was a window this year with all those programs not being at peak powers (not to mention how many years is Okie State and Utah just completely suck?)
So, I don't think this year its crazy to think that if Iowa State was at 100%, it could hang with one of those teams, at least for a while. Because none of them are great. Now, neither are we. But its a more open field than it generally is.
But it won't be every single year like that. So this year is a little bit of a missed opportunity, both in the league with Kansas, Okie State, and Utah all taking steps back - Houston having a coaching change -
it aligned this year. Not injury wise of course, but it had aligned this year a reasonable amount
I would assume the 1-2 split you have is the most realistic. Those 2 were going to be tough regardless of how good we are/were.I hate it after a 7-0 start, but 8-4.
I think we get Cincy, but not at Utah or vs KSU.

Light. Ten. Ning.Agree. (Btw...it's lightning, not lightening.)
No it's not when they started 7-0.I try to be a pragmatic, realistic fan of my alma mater. I got a bit fooled this year. I think Cindy is winnable. 8-4 is a solid regular season.
Agreed, our schedule aligned as well. You mean the same Alabama that struggled at home against South Carolina, South Florida and lost to Vandy? And not a fluke loss, like Vandy was simply better on that day?

If the Buffs lose Sat and we win, we’ll have more motivation to win against the Utes. So if It’s and buts become candy & nuts we might have a Merry Cyclone Christmas ! Or the buffs lose on Saturday and we win the next two BUT then lose to the Cats on a last minute pick six -in true Cyclone fashion !Utah gives up the fewest yards and fewest points in the conference, we aren’t winning that game.
KState is just too balanced and well coached, and they’re better than us right now, also a loss.
Cincy is really the only winnable game left IMO. We should win, but I’d call it a toss up at this point.
8-4 seems like best case scenario with some middle of the road bowl game again. I was hoping for better outcomes, especially after hearing about how much offensive production we had coming back this year. 8 regular season wins seems to be our ceiling though.
