This is SO TRUE. If everyone on here knows so much about coaching and recruiting for Big 12 FB then why didnt JP hunt you down?

Anyone on here who actually thinks that they are even remotely close to our staff when it comes to knowing or understanding what it takes to win is completely out of their mind.

snip . . .

Also, the state of Iowa has 11 JuCo's, Missouri has 16, Kansas has 6, Illinois has 24 and Kansas has 6.
NJCAA | Colleges | Home=

That is a lot of JuCo's to recruit close to ISU!
To clarify Illinois's recuiting potential: The NJCAA web site is easily misunderstood. Illinois has 47 community/junior college campuses, 24 with NJCAA sanctioned althletic programs, but only 3 with football programs. (Football is an expensive program.)

So while there are a few quality players around, the numbers get small very quickly when you're looking for players who could reasonably be expected to be competitive in the BIG 12.

i agree that what weve done for last 20 years has not worked at all.
I would agree with your ways, and some others, as well as changing the offensive and defensive strategies. make them different then ou, texas, etc... i say this because it has never worked at ISU... even when weve had the best college qb in the nation it didnt work that well.. 7 wins.

Make that 35 years. Last really good ISU team was 1976 when we finished 8-3 and no bowl. Back when the Big 8 was THE super power conference. We were second in the nation in total offense behind Michigan. Today, we absolutely cannot recruit to compete with the majority of Big 12 schools.
