After rewinding it a couple dozen times, I am certain Huggs wasn't directing his anger at Fred. Here's what my mediocre lip reading skills interpreted. Assuming Huggs was pointing at an official, "That motherf***er is gonna pay. Motherf***er said shut up and (?go sit down?)"

That last part I'm not certain. Huggs made it clear he was not a fan of the officiating, but not sure why the official would "pay" for telling him to shut up.

"Overweight, overpaid, and most importantly overrated are just a few quality

Is this for real? I mean, I suppose overpaid and overrated could be considered subjective, but overweight? Really? Fred is in better shape than probably half of the players in the league!

I could certainly understand him complaining about the refs. That is the most animated I've seen Fred get towards the refs. Huggy was yelling at them all night too. It would make sense that Hugs would comment on the poor reffing, knowing Fred was also "underwhelmed."

Btw, I think it got overlooked because we got the W, but that game was horribly officiated. A ton of bad calls went both ways. Walters is right, the refs seemed to be making the game about themselves.

I honestly don't see how he could even be considered over rated or over paid. The guy took a disaster of a team to the NCAA Tourney in just his 2nd season after having NO prior coaching experience. This will be the 3rd year in a row of making the tourney. His record speaks for itself.

I couldn't see any reason he would yell at Fred. We outplayed them and get the win. The officiating was bad, but that went both ways.

12 assists out of a freshman that made WVU's defense look silly is worthy of a "that mother****er can play".

At first, I was assuming that Huggins was asking Fred for the best place to stuff his face get drunk so that Huggins could have his driver look up directions. For those of you that don't know, Huggins has a DUI and part of his contract with WVU includes a professional driver.

On the radio after Ejim T-
Walters: Whitehead has done some big games and he knows it
Heft: I wish Whitehead was half as good as he thinks he is

I like his style. Coach Huggins is extremely candid as a previous poster eluded to. I don't know if you ever noticed but he doesn't seem very enthused with meeting with the press. Don't think interviews are his thing. But, he is an extremely intelligent coach.

You will never see Coach Huggins in a suit, as he ALWAYS wears a warm-up sweats to games. Coach Pat Knight was the only other coach that I could recall doing this.

I think he even wore a sweater for Big 12 Media day at the beginning of the season. He is a unique, genuine coach. And I dig that.

Don't forget George Raveling ...or am I dating myself?

I am skeptical that is what Huggins actually said. He was angry. And by Coach Hoiberg's reaction, it didn't look like it was complimentary at all.

No, you et. al. don't understand. That is Huggins style. Hoiberg and Huggins were having a gentlemen's conversation. Behind the harsh demeanor there is a lot of class. As a head coach you don't go up to a class act like Hoiberg and start bi***ing and moaning about how you lost. Clearly a DB move. . . . You just don't get Huggins like I do.

I got the feeling that they couldn't make up their mind on whether they wanted to call it tight or not. They started calling it pretty tight, presumably to keep things under control after the last game, but then they started let some pretty obvious stuff go. The crowd was riding them pretty hard early in the game.

What I don't like about Huggins has nothing to do with that. I think his brand of mug them constantly because the refs can't call them all basketball is bad for the sport. I also have zero respect with how he constantly works the refs and berates them even when he is getting more calls than his opponent. I'm sure that he gets some quick trigger fingers from refs on the T's because they get sick of getting abused for two hours every time they work one of his games.

Sure he cares for his players which was evident when he comforted his player after a season ending injury; kudos to him for that. That doesn't change the fact that his mugging ball belongs in the Big 10.
