In the Nebraska game, why is MO'C ruled down on his fumble recovery.

It happens at 1:40 in the video, and it would of been a big gain of yards if he could have ran it back.

Is it because the ball touched endzone on a change of possession (like a kickoff) meaning touchback? or was it because the ref blew his whistle so they couldnt let him run it back?

I need to know, after watching the video a few times again to get hyped for FB season, it just started to eat at me.

I'm pretty sure it was because the ref's blew the whistle. Once that happens play is dead. I could be wrong but anyway thanks for posting that. EPIC. Love it. Just got my parking passes...woohoo.

i love CPR's reaction after that play is ruled in ISU's favor...i think this is the only game in the entire history of our football program where we didnt get royally screwed over on calls

The runner was ruled down and the play whistled dead. Then the call was overturned on the replay

You know what really is epic? this game happened on my birthday. Pretty solid gift if you ask me.

Not to one up you, but I was in a wedding while the game was playing. All of the groomsmen had there phones "hiding" in their jackets watching the score. After we walked back down the aisle after the ceremony we get to the back of the church and the first thing the bride says when she gets back there is, "What's the score?" There was 2 minutes left in the game. As the final seconds ticked off the clock, we all started singing the fight song...in the church. THAT was epic.

Never forgive my friend that told me all summer that he had sideline passes to that game and 2 weeks before told me he couldn't get them.

I want to know why the Nebraska offensive lineman wasn't flag for a penalty for throwing down Simms after the first fumble recovery.

Pretty sure it was banks. But a flag could have been thrown but it was a OL and I am sure the refs gave him a break a) because he was an OL trying to tackle and didn't realize the play had been blown dead, b) he was a Nebraska player and the game was at Nebraska

it seemed like an inadvertent whistle.

I love watching this, my favorite are some of the comments on Youtube:

As I sit and watch this, I just have to laugh. Nebraska was clearly a superior team to Iowa St. but sometimes you shoot yourself in the foot so badly that you can't recover. When Nebraska curb stomps Iowa St. in Ames this year, we'll all realize this.

or:
Most amazing thing...NU had 8 turnovers and pathetic ISU could muster just 9 points. Nebraska should have blown those guys out of the stadium. Anybody with a brain can see that.

I absolutely love it. ISU could muster just 9 points? Well, Nebby could only muster 7, so guess what? You lose! I hate the fact that no one ever mentions ISU was down our starting Running Back and QB. And all but one of those turnovers was a big play by our D, not just a gift. Yeah, the one the receiver Kicked into the end Zone on his break away was a gift, but the others... Well, you guys know what I mean. Honestly, even next to Iowa, Nebraska fans have by far the most over inflated view of what their football team is than any other fan base I know. Their receivers slippery hands were a problem all year. Just so happens in this game they held on to them long enough to be fumbles and not incomplete passes.

Oh well, don't forget Nebby fans, we beat you with 2nd string running back and QB.
